OCTOBER IS MISSIONS MONTH
This month—in worship and beyond—we are focused on highlighting our missions ministry, honoring our mission partners and engaging in active conversation about what it means to be the hands and feet of Christ. If you are interested in deepening your missions engagement here at Second-Ponce, let us know! There is always work to do.
Wednesday nights, we'll continue our book study of When Helping Hurts. This is a wonderful opportunity for small and large group conversations about how to thoughtfully alleviate poverty without causing unintentional damage to others or yourself. Even if you haven't attended the previous sessions, we encourage you to join us!
In worship, we'll spotlight the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship's Offering for Global Missions during our Offertory. Additional resources will also be included in the Signal.
If you're ready to deepen your missions engagement, drop a line to Rev. Allie Osborne, Minister of Missions and Children's Discipleship, at aosborne@spdl.org.
RED CARD: FOR RETURNING GUESTS & SPDL MEMBERS
If you're a guest who's ready to take the next step or a church member who wants to deepen your involvement, fill out the red pew card—I'm a Regular—and drop it in the offering plate. Let us know how we can help.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Reciting the Lord's Prayer together is a powerful experience, one that is guided by incluson from its very first word. If prompted, we invite you to join us in this meaningful prayer practice.
Our Father, Which art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
WORSHIP
We love to see children at Second-Ponce, and we have a Kids’ Club area just for them! It's one floor up from the Sanctuary, and our greeters will be happy to show you the way. In the Kids' Club, there’s a nursery and Kids Worship for babies–5th grade. You may take your children to the Kids' Club before the service or, if you prefer, they can stay with you in the Sanctuary for the entire hour or until the Doxology when kids leave with ministry leaders.
JOINING SECOND-PONCE
Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where a member of our ministry team will greet you with warmth and joy. If you're uncomfortable being "in the spotlight," but still want to join–that's ok! Speak with one of our ministers after worship and they'll walk you through an alternate plan.
CHILDCARE DURING
WEEKLY PRAYER GUIDE 40 WEEKS OF PRAYER

As we read and pray this week, let's focus on our unity in Christ—despite our diversity— and the beauty that it brings to our understanding of God’s vast love.
Read: Galatians 3:26–29
Pray:
• Thank God for adopting you into the family of God as a true heir through Christ.
• Ask God to help Second-Ponce to actively model God's infinite love for each person regardless of age, race, creed or circumstance.

WHAT CAN WE DO? RESPONDING AS A CHURCH TO HELENE
Rev. Allie Osborne shared some best practices and donation links in her disaster response blog this week. You are encouraged to read her post, if you haven't already, and consider how you can plug in to long-term restoration efforts in the wake of Hurricane Helene.
While you're waiting for the service to begin or relaxing on the couch after lunch, scan this code to read Allie's blog. If you're able to give financially, we suggest using one of the two donation links provided. These are secure and vetted organizations who are doing good and necessary work in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene.
