Isaiah 6:1–8 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lofty; and the hem of his robe filled the temple. 2 Seraphs were in attendance above him; each had six wings: with two they covered their faces, and with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. 3 And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.”

4 The pivots on the thresholds shook at the voices of those who called, and the house filled with smoke. 5 And I said: “Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; yet my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”

ANNOUNCEMENTS Fully vaccinated people are no longer required to wear masks or physical distance. Unvaccinated people must still practice all COVID-19 safety protocols outlined in the Regathering Plan, including wearing a mask and physical distancing.

SO MUCH GOOD IS AHEAD

By Dr. Dock Hollingsworth I have exciting news on top of exciting news! The first celebration has already broken forth – fully vaccinated people are back at church without masks, and we are hugging again. If you have not gotten your vaccine yet, I encourage you to get the shot and join our fun. This is the first step toward a promising summer, and we have reason to be confident that we will soon be talking about the Post-Pandemic Church. This transition is setting up some long-anticipated transitions back.

Wednesday night, I started teaching a 3-week series on the post-COVID church, anticipating some of the changes that are underway. We, of course, don’t fully know what the church will look like in the future, but we will have fun exploring the possibilities. I do have confidence about some changes that are underway this summer that I hope you will mark on your calendar and help me celebrate: • June 6 – We will begin welcoming 100 people for worship. Childcare starts back. Hymnals return.

• July 4 – We will show up early in shorts to cheer on the runners at the Peachtree Road Race and at 11 a.m. we will gather on the Plaza for casual worship. Invite a neighbor to join you. Hot dog lunch to follow.

• August 22 – Circle this date in ink! August 22 is when we will all be back from vacation, schools will have started back, hopefully COVID will be fully in our rearview mirror and we are having a celebration! All systems go! All Sunday Schools are back, trumpets and guests, hugs and celebrations. On August 22, we are throwing a party, so buy a new dress and think about who you are going to invite to the fun.

So much good is ahead.

I love being your pastor, Dock HOLIDAY CLOSURE The Second-Ponce church office and building will be closed Monday, May 31 in honor of Memorial Day. We will resume regular business hours Tuesday, June 1.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL June 7–11 | 9 a.m.–Noon All aboard the Rocky Railway! We’re headed to Vacation Bible School at Second-Ponce! We’re excited to share that we’ve planned both virtual and in-person options for this year’s Vacation Bible School. If by June, Atlanta is in Phase 3 of its regathering plan, we’ll implement the in-person option. If not, we’ll move to a fully virtual experience. BECOME A MIAMI MISSION TRIP SHAREHOLDER July 10–17, 2021 | Miami, Florida Second-Ponce is excited to announce we’re once again sending a mission team to Touching Miami with Love (TML) in Miami, Florida. Our team will be assisting TML’s accredited childcare program by leading devotions and Bible Lessons, visual arts, enrichment and fitness.

We need both prayer and financial supporters to help make this trip possible. By committing to pray and/or pay, you are increasing our ability to share God’s love in Miami. We also need folks to help prep materials for the trip in advance. Those interested in making a financial gift, can send a check to Second-Ponce and write “TML” in the memo line or give online at www.spdl.org/give and select the Touching Miami with Love giving option.

Our “vaccine angels” team at Second-Ponce is happy to help find or make appointments for anyone who needs help! We have now helped to find appointments for 35 people and we are getting pretty good at it! Our team stands ready to help however needed!
