Loving God, Your desire is for our wholeness and well being.

We hold in tenderness and prayer the collective suffering of our world at this time.

We grieve precious lives lost and vulnerable lives threatened.

We ache for ourselves and our neighbors, standing before an uncertain future.

We pray: may love, not fear, go viral.

Inspire our leaders to discern and choose wisely, aligned with the common good.

Help us to practice social distancing and reveal to us new and creative ways to come together in spirit and in solidarity.

Call us to profound trust in your faithful presence, You, the God who does not abandon.

Amen.

DOCK: We are gathered virtually together to celebrate the accomplishments of members of our community.

HEATHER: We give blessings to you for all that you have achieved and many more achievements yet to come.

DOCK: One part of your life’s journey is complete. You will prepare to begin another phase that will take you to unimaginable places. As you prepare for your next journey, we hope that you remember the ones you leave behind,who have loved and supported you throughout the years.

DAVID: We give you blessings of good will and love as you journey forth into the world. We thank you for the laughter and fellowship that you have shared with us and pray that as you begin your next journey, remember the times that we all have shared with you.

DOCK: Use those memories as a beacon to guide you on your path. Don’t look back; continue only forward, while using those memories to create a new path.

BILL: We pray that God will give you strength and determination to develop new relationships that will help to strengthen and sustain your faith.

DOCK: Because we are made in the image of God, we have been blessed with free will to make choices and decisions.

JOSH: We pray that you make wise and rational decisions, always turning to God for help. God hears, God listens, God is always with you. Do not forget that.

Always keep in mind that God is around and if you turn to Him, He will guide you.

Second-Ponce Celebrates Our Graduates Graduate Recognition Sunday | May 17, 2020

CLASS OF 2020

NATE ANDERSON Nate is graduating from The Mount Vernon School. His future plans are to attend Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina and play college baseball. Nate is the son of Andy and Kelly Anderson.

ANDREW CONDRA

Andrew is graduating from Mount Paran Christian School. His future plan is to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. Andrew is the son of Robin and Scott Condra and the grandson of Clayton and Marianne Ramsey and John and Margaret Condra.

KEITH HARMEL Keith is graduating from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia with a master's degree in choral conducting.

His future plans include directing an elite choral ensemble, serving as a church music minister, composing music and pursuing a doctoral music degree.

CHELSEY KELLY Chelsey is graduating from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia with a bachelor's degree in film and media and a sociology minor. Her future plans are to work in film or TV as a visual effects editor or special effects and stunts coordinator, and to work in ministry.

ANSLEY LYNN Ansley is graduating from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia with a bachelor's degree of fine arts in theater performance. Ansley is the granddaughter of Jane Lynn.

NANCY ANNE (NAN) MCMAHAN Nan is graduating from Lakeside High School. Her future plan is to attend the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.

Nan is the granddaughter of Anne and the late Keith McMahan.

CLASS OF 2020

JONATHAN MORGAN Jonathan is graduating from The Westminster Schools. His future plan is to attend the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. Jonathan is the son of Jon and Robin Morgan.

RYAN KERR O'DONNELL Ryan is graduating from Lake Braddock High School in Burke, Virginia. His future plan is to study physics in the Ohio State University Honors Program in Columbus, Ohio. Ryan is the grandson of John and Pat Kerr.

JAKE REAMS Jake is graduating from Woodward Academy. His future plan is to attend Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Jake is the son of Jill and Steve Reams.

JOSHUA SCOTT Josh is graduating from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Florida with a Doctor of Ministry degree.

His future plans are to finish his Doctor of Philosophy degree and continue working in ministry.

JAY PERKINS Jay is graduating from Whitefield Academy. His future plan is to study health sciences at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Jay is the son of Betsy and Lee Perkins.

Acts 17:22–31 22 Then Paul stood in front of the Areopagus and said, “Athenians, I see how extremely religious you are in every way. 23 For as I went through the city and looked carefully at the objects of your worship, I found among them an altar with the inscription, ‘To an unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. 24 The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands, 25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things. 26 From one ancestor[a] he made all nations to inhabit the whole earth, and he allotted the times of their existence and the boundaries of the places where they would live, 27 so that they would search for God[b] and perhaps grope for him and find him—though indeed he is not far from each one of us.

28 For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we too are his offspring.’

29 Since we are God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the deity is like gold, or silver, or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of mortals.

30 While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent, 31 because he has fixed a day on which he will have the world judged in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”
