This Sunday: October 6
Robin Mathis will share her stewardship testimony and we’ll welcome as our guest preacher Dr. Paul Baxley, executive coordinator of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. October 6 is also World Communion Day and we’ll participate with our global church family in sharing the Lord’s Supper. In our 4 p.m. All Together service, Rev. Josh Scott begins a new series series called Living Out Scary Movies, and part 1, Burned Alive, will look at Leviticus 2. This will be another great Sunday!
STEWARDSHIP AS WITNESS PROTECTION This week, we’re kicking off the theme of “Witness Protection: Giving that ensures we can fulfill God’s mission.” We’ll focus on the ways stewardship protects our ability to share God’s hope, peace, love and joy with those far away and close to home. During the four Sundays in October, we’ll hear personal testimonies of how God guides us through our stewardship discernment, as well as sermons illustrating how SPdL grows in worship, community, mission and discipleship when we are faithful stewards. In the coming days, you’ll receive our stewardship mailing that includes your pledge card. We hope you’ll be in prayer for your role as protectors of our collective witness.
