Did you know that The Official Downton Abbey Cookbook is in the Second-Ponce library? After the huge success of both the TV program and now the motion picture, this wonderful cookbook was put together. In the new Downton Abbey movie, Lord and Lady Grantham are hosting the King and Queen of England and hold a royal banquet in their honor, and with this collection of recipes, you can experience the cuisine and history of this English country house. Many dishes from both the TV show and the movie are included. Come see this and a variety of other cookbooks in the church library.

FAMILIES ON MISSION DAY HAS TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

Sunday, November 10 | After 11 a.m. & 4 p.m. worship services | Meal cost: Free | Meet in the Fellowship Hall This Sunday, our Ministry to Children and Families is having a fall Families on Mission Day. We know your weekends are packed with activities so we're offering two time slots for you to participate! Following both the 11 a.m. Sanctuary and 4 p.m. All Together worship services, we'll meet in the Fellowship Hall for a yummy meal to get things started. After, we'll prepare care packages for families who have babies in the NICU and are "rooming-in" at the hospital. Before wrapping up, we'll have an intentional time of prayer as families praying for families and ask God to offer comfort, peace and healing to these children and their parents. CHRISTMAS HOPE (Helping Others through Projects of Encouragement) Sunday, December 8 | After All Together | Youth Area

This year, we’re offering encouragement through a home-cooked meal for a group of college students who may be unable to go home for the holidays or don’t have a place at all to celebrate the season. After the All Together service on Sunday, December 8, Second-Ponce will provide fried chicken and we’re asking you to bring sides or desserts. If cooking or baking isn’t in your wheelhouse, we could also use volunteers to drive vans to transport students to and from SPdL and/or serve the meal. Sunday School classes and small groups can sign up to make care packages or write notes of encouragement for these students. You can sign up to help at spdl.org/hope.

STEWARDSHIP UPDATE

From Jeff Miller, Church Administrator As of November 3, we received 124 pledges representing $885,243.00 (52%) of our $1.7 million budget. Again, I say thank you, but we still have a ways to go. There’s still time to submit your pledge card if you have not already done so. You can mail or drop it off to the church office or complete the online version at spdl.org/pledge.
