From 6-10 a.m., volunteers can serve in 4 areas water distribution, hospitality, set up and clean up to work from 6 a.m.-10 a.m. Volunteers and SPdL members running the race get a FREE limited edition t-shirt that celebrates both Second-Ponce and the race's 50th anniversary! The front of the t-shirt is to the right and the back of the t-shirt has a brief message inviting runners to "follow me" to the SPdL water station. All shirts will be a comfortably-weighted navy cotton. Volunteers: Email Josh Scott at jscott@spdl.org and include your volunteer area preference(s), t-shirt size and phone number. Wear your VBS shirt and meet in the Sanctuary at 10:20 a.m. so we can practice the songs the children will share in worship. After the service, come share a meal with us in the Fellowship Hall. We will also have some inflatables outside so kids can work off all of that extra VBS energy after lunch. We look forward to celebrating God’s goodness together!

FLOWER COMMITTEE NEEDS SUMMER VOLUNTEERS By Susan Raven

We are looking for a few additional volunteers to support the SPdL flower ministry. This involves a couple of hours on Mondays to break down the pulpit flowers into a few (usually 3-4) smaller arrangements and then deliver them to church members who are sick, have lost a loved one or are shut-in. You do not need prior experience arranging flowers. As we work in teams of 3, it does not take long to arrange the flowers and each individual rarely has to deliver more than 1-2 arrangements. Each committee member's commitment is 1 or 2 Mondays per month. If anyone is interested in working with us this summer, we can use you! For more information, please contact Susan Raven at sraven@emory.edu or 770.435.0676.

Does the universe make sense? Do the cosmos have purpose? Do human beings matter? How do new medical technologies alter our understanding of life & death? Do scientists & people of faith have anything meaningful to say to each other? What does Scripture say about the relationship between faith & science? Join us as we grapple together with the compatibility of faith and science in a combination of guest speakers and small group discussion. • Wednesday, June 12: Created in God’s Image led by Rob Suggs • Wednesday, June 19: Numbering Our Days: Faith, Life & Death led by David Hull • Sunday, June 23 | *Lunch & Learn: God and the Cosmos led by Dr. Paul Wallace • Wednesday, June 26: Eternity and Quantum Physics led by Dr. Karen Harwell
