THANK YOU Lee and Betsy Perkins gifted to Second-Ponce this beautiful baby grand piano in memory of Betsy’s grandmother. We’re grateful for this contribution to our music ministry and touched to be part of its legacy. Visit the Ryland Knight Room for a closer look at this precious piece.

WARMTH FOR THE WINTER This month, Second-Ponce is collecting hats, scarves, gloves and blankets to help our partner, Buckhead Christian Ministry, serve those in need. As you are able, place newly purchased winter accessories in the BCM bins located in the Northbridge Welcome Center.

THE STORY OF WHAT WE BELIEVE SPdLU | Wednesdays, January 8–February 19 | 6 p.m. | Fellowship Hall | Led by Dr. David Hull The beliefs and doctrines of the Christian faith did not come into being all at once, they developed through the history of the church. Do you know why we believe some of the things that we do? Would you be interested in some of the history that has shaped our theology? In this SPdLU series, we'll examine the stories behind the belief statements of the church from the very earliest days up to the present and seek to understand why we believe what we do. Here are the remaining topics for the series: • 1/15: This We Believe | The early church put words to the beliefs of the church. What did they say? • 1/22: A Creed for the Ages Part 1 | The Apostles’ Creed is a lasting statement of Christian belief. For three weeks we will study what this Creed says about what we believe. • 1/29: A Creed for the Ages Part 2 • 2/5: A Creed for the Ages Part 3 • 2/12: Reforming What We Believe | The Reformation brought about big changes in what we believe. What were they? • 2/19: Baptist Affirmations of Faith | Baptist beliefs are expressed in Affirmations of Faith. What do these documents say about what we believe today?

FREE FOR LUNCH TOMORROW? Thursday, January 16 | Noon | Fellowship Hall | Cost: Free but a donation of $5 at the door is appreciated The Regional Council of Churches is hosting Atlanta’s own Robert Franklin for a lunch and lecture here at Second-Ponce, and you're invited! This sought-after, nationally-known speaker on the moral life in America will be here in our Fellowship Hall for lunch. For the fifth summer in a row, Second-Ponce is sending a mission team to Touching Miami with Love (TML) in Miami, Florida. The ministries of TML are aimed at sharing "the love of Christ by offering hope, opportunities and resources" to two underserved Miami-Dade neighborhoods: West Homestead and Overtown (where SPdL will be serving). Be on the lookout for trip information and email Heather Webb at if you have questions about TML or connecting with this mission opportunity.
