While a number of our choir women are away on the Women's Retreat, we will have a men's choir leading us in worship on Sunday, February 23. Bill Gabbard invites all men to come to the choir rehearsal room at 10:30 a.m. on that Sunday, where we will run through music for the Call to Worship and Anthem. Oh, and there will be doughnuts! SPdL men, come one, come all...especially those of who cannot make a regular commitment to singing in the choir.

MERCER SINGERS AT SPdL MARCH 1 The Mercer University Singers, under the direction of Mercer alum Dr. Stanley Roberts, will be leading our 11 a.m. worship service through music on Sunday, March 1. This outstanding group of young musicians will also be singing across the street at the Cathedral of St Philip at 3:15 p.m. that same day.

BECOMING A CBF ENCOURAGER CHURCH CBF Encourager Churches are a crucial component to the work of CBF field personnel around the world. A congregation becomes an Encourager Church when it formalizes its relationship with specific field personnel. This Sunday, during the 11 a.m. worship service, Second-Ponce is excited to enter into this relationship with CBF field personnel, Janée Angel. She and her husband, Hary, live and minister in Antwerp, Belgium, working particularly among the Arabic-speaking community, which is ever growing in the midst of the world refugee crisis. After working among Arabic speakers in an Arabic/French church in Brussels for 6 years, Janée and her family moved to Antwerp in a church-starting effort to establish the first evangelical Arabic church outside the Brussels area. Today, the church holds weekly services and Bible studies, has a music ministry and children’s program, and Janée hosts women’s events and a prayer group.

We look forward to growing this new missions partnership and ask you to be in prayer for for Janée, Hary and their two daughters, as they serve God’s people in Belgium.
