Bath City Football Stadium and the High Street of Twerton are in dire need of a retrofit. This proposal involves the retrofit of the stadium, making more room for seating and incorporating spaces for pubs, gyms and underground parking. Based off precedents of successful stadiums, the design creates an open-faced stadium that is inviting to the public. Furthermore, outside of the stadium there was a dilapidated car park which would change into a green space/ viewing area, creating another communal area in the heart of Twerton. The scheme also retrofits part of the previous High Street, so that the commercial side faces the communal area and the residential side runs along the proposed one-way road. The introduction of shops into the area will help the local economy and the reintroduction of local flora will help reach Bath’s net zero goals.
