I am from the hardwood court where dribbling happens and people score.

I am from church where the choir sings.

I am from my bed that’s all soft and comfy.

I am from the house with the bright skylight and the extra room no one uses. I am from the big front and backyard. I am from the house with the cut down blackberry bush and the moleholes all over the yard. I am from the back porch and the swing bench on my front yard.

I am from the street with the extremely long walkway and the bus stop 5 blocks away from another bus stop. I am from the street in front of a broken down red car. I am from “Shut Up” and “Be there in a minute” and “Five more minutes please” I am from the family that makes Tamales, tasty jello and scrumptious cakes only on special occasions.

I am from the memories of weeding the garden, being in our house for the first time, and playing with my brother on the Xbox One.
