Background I.M. Pei, the master architect that I admire the most, had passed away in 2019. His buildings are the inspiration to me.

His amazing work enlightened my passion for architecture out of nothing. He is the reason why I fall in love with architecture.

This project is the way I pay my biggest tribute to Mr.Pei.

The design of the back of the building illustrates his family name, Pei, in Mandarain. The lights inside the main building symbolize the most characteristic feature of Pei's buildings, using lights to create spaces.

NANGANG

STATION

Background Since 2014, Dr.Ko, the mayor of Taipei City, has made a plan about the development of Nangang, Taipei. I’ve been paying high attention to this plan since it was the first modern and government-led development programme of Nangang. Among all projects of this programme, the redesign of Nangang Station attracts me the most.

At the same time, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2020 w a s a w a rd e d f o r t h e d e v e l o p m e n t o f a m e t h o d f o r genome editing, CRISPR/Cas9. This inspired me to design a CRISPR/Cas9-model-like station and apply its concept, scissors, on public transportation.

Background In the school that I study, there are a lot of students who are not only clever but diligent. Surrounded by these top students every day gives me a lot of pressure.

I often imagine that I am t h e l i tt l e f l o w e r a n d m y classmates are those tall and strong trees. Although they have the height, I have the horizons. I am just waiting to blossom.

MOTHERBOARD

As technology advances, humans are more reliant on computers than ever before. Known as the heart of a computer, motherboard plays a crucial role in computer performance. Nowadays, people often spend a lot of time on computers, whose operation count on the motherboard.

I believe that means people are now living on the computer, in the motherboard. Therefore, a space or living area in the motherboard has been increasingly important in the near future.

However, at the same time, we also need to ask if it is secure to rely on the board. Is it sturdy enough to protect humans? That’s what we need to think about.

Background Global warming is definitely the biggest issue we are facing right now. Due to rising sea level, our living area is compressing.

We need to be prepared that one day we are going to live in high mountains and valleys. This project is a conceptual picture of our future living environment in the valley.
