New N.C. Revenue Secretary
Department of Revenue Secretary Ken Lay is out, and Sen. David Hoyle from Gaston County is the new secretary. Hoyle, co-chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, has written many of the tax laws his new position administers.

Holliman Target of Accountability Campaign
This week SEANC unveiled a new series of television and radio commercials targeting Majority Leader Rep. Hugh Holliman (D-Davidson) and his bad leadership on the state budget. Want to keep your dependents eligible for the State Health Plan (SHP)? Complete the Dependent Eligibility Verification process. Governor's Executive Order
Gov. Bev Perdue issued an executive order Thursday to improve efficiency and reduce bureaucracy in state government. The executive order directs cabinet secretaries to not create any new rules unless absolutely necessary.

SEANC President Charles Johnson is forming a new SEANC committee, chaired by Dan Efird of District 17, dedicated to furthering and protecting the rights and benefits of SEANC members who have served in the armed forces.
