ABOUT SEA WHO WE ARE

SEA Marketing Communications is a creative marketing agency based in Canterbury, Kent. For over 30 years, SEA has been providing bespoke communications strategies for schools and businesses throughout the UK, mixing innovative thinking with skilled execution to deliver effective, high impact marketing campaigns.

We have an in-house team of twelve, plus a core bank of skilled associates across the country. From experienced marketing professionals to skilled academics and talented artists, our team has a combined skill set that sets us apart from the competition.

SEA has worked across a myriad of sectors and on a diverse range of projects and we have the requisite experience to help all sorts of organisations address all kinds of issues with integrated, multi-channel marketing communications campaigns.

Once we've familiarised ourselves with our client's goals and direction, our first priority is to create a detailed strategy, based on objective research and analysis. We then discuss our strategy with the client and use feedback to refine recommendations and develop a step-by-step schedule that ensures efficient and timely project delivery.

ABOUT SEA OUR APPROACH

Project Management We have well established organisational processes and project management protocols that allow us to deliver the best possible results within a given timeframe. Our workflow structure is made up of the following elements and this attention to detail and internal quality management is applied to every stage of any project. Take design, for an example

After acceptance of the initial tender, a detailed briefing document (including supporting materials such as client brand assets, etc) is created by a dedicated Account Manager, working in conjunction with other key members of the account team This brief is then considered with the creative team, so that specific jobs can be assigned based on appropriate skills and experience At this stage the chosen team will generate initial ideas and draft designs for presentation to the MD and Account Manager for review These concepts are discussed and refined as necessary, ready to be presented to the client Client feedback is used to further refine the work and the final design is re-presented to the client The agreed design then provides the starting point for the next steps in the process – whatever the project (digital, offline, campaign-specific, etc).

Regular client contact is maintained throughout every process, by email, phone and face-to-face meetings where appropriate. We make sure that our clients are delighted with every part of every project and that no extra costs are incurred without express permission.

Whilst we appreciate that some of these are business examples and not all are responsive sites, these organisations have been extremely impressed with the performance of their sites with regards to return on investment (ROI) and ongoing number of enquiries. We are currently in the process of helping our clients with the transition to responsive. We currently have twelve responsive sites in production, with clients ranging from a national cleaning company to a secondary school and nursery - details of which we would be happy to share.

CHERRY PICKED FOR YOUR PROJECT Each of our clients is assigned to one of our dedicated and experienced Account Managers, to ensure the best and smoothest possible working environment. In addition to this, clients are assigned a team of designers, copywriters, and technical developers hand-picked for the project.

Simon | Managing Director Simon spent over 10 years working in marketing and direct marketing with a variety of consumer and business to business clients before establishing SEA in 1983. His commercial expertise, extensive marketing skills and passion for quality design underpin the agency’s success and ensure that the SEA team continues to develop and deliver creative, cost effective solutions to meet each client’s brief.

Amy | Account Manager Amy is responsible for maintaining the link between the Agency and a number of clients. A great team player, Amy excels at working within tight deadlines and will always remain cool under pressure. Amy's vast experience allows her to issue bullet-proof briefs to the Studio, ensure each project runs smoothly and efficiently and will always keep clients up to date with progress reports and reviews.

Hollie | Account Manager A keen artist who studied at Wimbledon School of Art, Hollie is interested in all aspects of design and is a great asset to the SEA team. Totally unflappable, she deals with anything and everything from day-to-day client liaison, project management, production schedules, budgets, as well as supporting the creative team to ensure client work meets the objectives agreed from the outset.

Nick | Creative Studio Manager Specialising in information graphics, Nick was a senior designer in metropolitan agencies and creative communication practices based in London. Nick’s holistic approach to marketing delivers intelligent, copy-led solutions that balance research with experience and intuition. His struggle to fill the world with better looking, harder working communications continues through his work at SEA.

Kenny | Artworker, Animator A digital Graphic Design graduate from Kent, Kenny is trained in a wide range of practical creative skills including animation, typography and layout. His eye for strong typographical balance and visual communication help create a successful piece of design. With a background in motion graphics for live performances, Kenny is always looking for ways to bring a project to life.

Karalyn | Digital Comms Karalyn's career has spanned business strategy, marketing communications, digital development and all aspects of social media engagement and brand management. She has been part of the SEA team for 15 years and is an experienced project manager as well as confident copywriter and capable business researcher. She is a member of the National Union of Journalists.

CHERRY PICKED FOR YOUR PROJECT Josh | Web Developer A recent addition to our web team, Josh is a highly creative digital expert with 6 years industry experience in cutting edge design and development, including in-depth knowledge of relevant languages such as CSS, PHP, HTML, AJAX. He excels in working to tight deadlines and helps our clients realise their digital objectives by creating functional websites bespoke to their requirements.

Troy | Web Developer Trained and qualified as a graphic designer, Troy made the natural progression to web development as the industries bias began to shift.

During his career Troy has worked with a variety of projects for clients, including large corporations such as GlaxoSmithKline, Tesco, C2C Rail and Bombardier. Troy is passionate about the constantly evolving media that he works within and thrives upon the daily challenges that entails.

Andrew | Digital Marketing Andrew has been working on web sites since the day after Tim Berners-Lee came up with the idea in 1990. He cut his teeth on corporate intranets and moved on to more commercial ideas creating some of the first ever “brand� websites for some well known UK organisations. For the last ten years he has been working on digital strategy with a number of household name FMCG brands.

Catherine | Photographer Catherine is a full time, professional photographer specialising in portraiture. She is fully CRB checked and has a great deal of experience in working with and directing students. Catherine is passionate about creating captivating images that feel natural and her attention to detail ensures perfect results.

Rachel | Business Manager After achieving her Law degree at North London University, Rachel worked for a wide range of companies in London including the Business & Legal Division of BBC Worldwide for four years. Since joining the SEA team six years ago, Rachel has completed her AAT4 in Accountancy and is responsible for running the finances of the business along with HR and office management.

Kris | PR, Copywriter As a PR consultant/copywriter for over 30 years, Kris has worked both client-side and agency-side, handling consumer and business to business accounts for brands such as Levis, Royal Doulton and Russell Hobbs. She has also worked on projects for local authorities in Kent and on a high profile public information anti-drug campaign and environmental improvement project for a London borough.
