BOATSPRAY Product Description The BOATSPRAY is a range of portable diesel powered dispersant spray systems for operation from Tugs, Supply Vessels and Workboats. The systems are designed for the application of diluted or concentrated dispersant from conventional Spray Arms, Hand Lances or the new alternative to spray arms; the AFEDO™ Nozzle.

BOATSPRAY is available in two models; the BOATSPRAY 50 which is designed for small vessels operating in-shore

and the BOATSPRAY 100 which is a larger unit for operation from larger offshore vessels. Like all Ayles Fernie products, the BOATSPRAY is offered with a comprehensive range of options which means that the systems can be configured and supplied to meet specific customer requirements at competitive prices.

BOATSPRAY Description of Options 1 Dilute Spray Option (0-30%) Dispersant can be applied in concentrated form ie straight from the drum or diluted with sea water. This option uses a proportioning eductor to mix dispersant at up to 30% concentration in sea water.

13 Set of 2 Trigger Operated Hand Lances with Hoses When dispersing small oil patches or cleaning structures coated in oil, Hand Lances provide a useful tool. These trigger operated hand lances are supplied with hoses and fit directly to the BOATSPRAY Pump Units.

2 Dilute Flow Rate Indicator If the dilute option is selected, a Flow Rate Indicator is recommended to indicate the flow of dispersant and to set the required application rate in accordance with the Operating Manual instructions.

14 Recommended Spares A comprehensive range of spares is available for pump unit, spray arm and hand lance equipment.

4 Pump Unit Wheel Kit This removable Wheel Kit option for the BS50 or BS100 pump units allows the pump unit to be moved about easily and once in position, the wheels can be removed for securing the pump unit as required.

5 Engine Spark Arrester The Yanmar engine can be supplied with a sprak arrester to prevent the production of sparks from the engine exhaust 6 Electric Start for BOATSPRAY 100 The larger BOATSPRAY 100 pump unit can be supplied with Electric Start and this option includes a key start fitting, battery and battery charging system.

7 Pump Unit PVC Cover Protect the pump unit from the weather and deterioration in the marine environment with this PVC Cover Option.

8 BS100 Pump Unit Lifting Sling The heavier BS100 Pump Unit can be supplied with a SS Lifting Sling with Load Test Certificate 9 8m Aluminium Spray Arms The BS100 pump unit with its higher performance can be supplied with 8m Spray Arms for larger vessel installations.

10 Nozzle Downpipes Spray Arm nozzles need to be positioned 1-2m from the water surface and Nozzle Downpipes are used to achieve this. These Downpipes are essential from most spray arm installations.

11 WingJet Nozzles The Spray Arm “Swath Width” can be extended by the use of “WingJet” Nozzles which are fitted to the outboard nozzle position.

12 AFEDO™ Nozzles The AFEDO™ Nozzle is a specially design nozzle which creates an even drop-out spray pattern and provides an effective alternative to Spray Arms. When AFEDO Nozzles are supplied with BOATSPRAY Pump Units, this creates a compact and highly portable system which can be operated from “Vessels of Opportunity”.

16 BS50-TS and BS100-TS Aluminium Containers When the BOATSPRAY systems are supplied with AFEDO Nozzles, they can be supplied in Aluminium Containers.

These containers provide secure storage for all system components which protects the systems from deterioration, damage and the loss of key components. These containers are very popular with Oil Companies and other operators who need to be able to move the systems quickly and reliably from location to location and ship to ship.

17 Protective Clothing We recommend that system operators (particularly when using AFEDO Nozzles) wear appropriate protective clothing. This options includes Coveralls, Goggles, Gloves and Respirator.

18 Oil Dispersant Ayles Fernie is able to supply oil dispersant chemicals in drums or 1000 Litre IBCs. 19 Portable Dispersant Tanks and Suction Manifolds/Hoses The storage of dispersant and the supply to the pump unit is crucial for successful and un-interrupted dispersant application and this is often forgotten. Ayles Fernie can supply the necessary dispersant storage tanks and hoses to meet customer requirements.

3 Outlet Flow Rate Indicator In order to set the appropriate flow rate to the spray arms, an Outlet Flow Rate Indicator is recommended.

15 Pump Spares Kit A pump overhaul kit is available which includes all components necessary to repair a damaged or worn pump.
