Professional Truck Driver

Jere Rions, professional truck driver for Old Dominion Freight Line, Sioux Falls, SD, was selected as the September 2021 Driver of the Month by the South Dakota Safety Management Council. Jere has been in the trucking industry for over 30 years. He has acquired over one million accident-free (minus being rearended by a drunk driver in 2014). He is very active in the South Dakota Truck Driving Championships. When he wasn’t competing, he was participating as a volunteer. In the words of his manager, “Mr. Rions is an amazing example of what a professional driver is expected to be. Each and every day he brings a positive attitude along with an amazing work ethic. He is ready and willing to help in any way possible.” Jere and his wife Marcella are the parents of two; Lane (14) and Jase (11). They reside in Sioux Falls, SD. The South Dakota Trucking Association joins the Safety Management Council in congratulating Jere Rions for being selected as the September 2021 Driver of the Month.
