Happy New Year to you all! This week I write to you from Pierre, SD, as the 98th South Dakota Legislative Session kicks off. On January 10th, Governor Kristi Noem gave the state of the state address to the House, Senate, and audience. Every session seems to have a few hot-button topics, and this year is no exception. We know that the removal of sales tax on food will be one with much discussion, along with the housing fund that was established last year with very little movement to appropriate funding state-wide. As far as the trucking industry is concerned, we are monitoring several bills on your behalf. You will receive weekly emails highlighting "Under the Dome," which will brief you on the bills we are involved in. Should you have any questions, concerns, or additional legislative items in which you have an interest, please contact me.
