Professional truck driver William John Lex, a longtime driver for Walmart Transportation and an America’s Road Team Captain for American Trucking Associations, died Jan. 10 after a bout with colon cancer. He was 56. SDTA Road Team Captains Jeremy Senger, Mike Whitehead, Jeff Eschen and Gary Schmidt donated $100 to the South Dakota Trucking Foundation in honor of Mr. Lex. The Foundation is where the money comes from in order to distribute $7,000 annually in scholarships to immediate family of SDTA members.
