SDSU STUDENT MEDIA
Collegian Media reaches an audience of more than 12,000 students, staff and community members with the weekly Collegian newspaper, the weekly Collegian Report, the website sdsucollegian.com and daily broadcasting of the KSDJ radio station, 90.7 FM. SDSU’s student media has a 140-year history of providing news, entertainment and historical record to the community of Brookings and South Dakota State University.

• Collegian Media students are sought after for jobs and internships. They are successful in numerous fields, from journalism and communications to medicine, government, business, the arts and education.
• Collegian Media is a campus information leader. We train students on traditional and new media best practices to provide up-to-the-minute information.
• KSDJ has broadcast since 1993. Besides coordinating the programming and engineering for a 24/7 broadcast station, staff members help organize the May Day Music Festival, which showcases regional and local musical talent.
• Practicum credit is available through the School of Communication & Journalism.

Little International manager Teigen Hadrick got familiar with the champion hog after losing the “kiss the pig” contest. Little ‘I’ is an SDSU tradition that is scheduled every March and is more than 100 years old.

Experience the lush abundance of McCrory Gardens as false indigo, peonies, and a plethora of purple flowers bloom, painting May in a riot of colors. During finals week, ALL SDSU Students plus their friends and family receive FREE admission to the Gardens.
McCrory Gardens is free to SDSU students, family, and SDSU employees finals week, May 3-10.
