DANCERS SHINE AT QLD CHAMPIONSHIPS Local dancers from Impact Performing Arts have achieved outstanding results at the 2026 ATOD Queensland Championships, with three students earning the opportunity to represent Queensland at the Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) National Championships later this year. A highlight of the event was Willow Barltrop being crowned the Queensland Intermediate Jazz Champion, taking out 1st Place in the Intermediate Jazz Championship. Fellow Impact dancer Chloe Turner was also crowned the Queensland Junior Tap Champion, winning 1st Place in the Junior Tap Championship. Alongside Mia Farrell, who placed 4th in the Intermediate Jazz Championship, all three dancers have now qualified to represent Queensland and Impact Performing Arts at the ATOD National Championships. The championships brought together some of the state’s most talented young dancers, with Impact students producing impressive results across ballet, jazz, contemporary and tap disciplines. Impact Performing Arts Director Kate Young said she was incredibly proud of all students who represented the studio. “To be selected to compete at this level is an achievement in itself. The dedication, hard work and commitment shown by all of our dancers in the lead-up to the championships was outstanding, and their performances reflected that.” “We are incredibly proud of Sophie Attinger, Ava Morey, Lara Stewart-Guex, Chloe Turner, Mikayla Crompton, Mia Farrell, Willow Barltrop and Lotti Polyak. They represented our studio with professionalism, passion and determination, and we couldn’t be happier with their achievements.” The studio now looks forward to supporting Willow, Mia and Chloe as they prepare to compete against the country’s best dancers at the upcoming ATOD National Championships, proudly representing Queensland and their local community on the national stage.
