SDPB Learners Connection

Schools across South Dakota are closed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. This is resulting in thousands of students learning with modified educational instruction. South Dakota Public Broadcasting has FREE educational resources for learners in preschool through high school, to help with at-home learning.

In an effort to provide students with educational programs, WORLD Channel (SDPB2-TV) offers at-home learning opportunities for grades 6-12 weekdays from 11am - 4pm CT. SDPB provides a weekly schedule document at SDPB.org/learnersconnection that contains clickable links to resources that align with these programs.

At SDPB.org/learnersconnection parents and students will find a bounty of free resources: distance learning activities and lesson plans for K-12 students, crafts for kids, kitchen classroom ideas, free learning apps, selected online articles, and links to resources for your little learners.

Need even MORE resources? PBSLearningMedia.org Inspire your learners with thousands of free teaching resources including videos, lesson plans, and games aligned to state and national standards. PBS LearningMedia curates learning opportunities for students of all ages.

Find the weekly SDPB WORLD schedules with clickable resource links at SDPB.org/ learnersconnection.

Early Learning Initiative

For little learners SDPB offers SDPB.org/ELI

The goal of the SDPB Early Learning Initiative (ELI) is to prepare children for Kindergarten. Without a formal, funded and standards-based preschool program available to students across the state, SDPB ELI fills the gap and prepares children for the first step of their education.

“At many times throughout their lives, children will feel the world has turned topsy-turvy. It’s not the ever-present smile that will help them feel secure. It’s knowing that love can hold many feelings, including sadness, and that they can count on the people they love to be with them until the world turns right side up again.” – Fred Rogers
