Director’s Notes

Itseemsearlyforyoutobe thinking about the Annual Conference in October, but the City of Pierre and the League Staff have been working on it for a while now, and we want to make sure you are planning to attend. This year’s event promises to be one of the best ever, and the City is very excited to have the opportunity to have you all attend and is arranging some fascinating new features for you all to learn and enjoy.

The Conference schedule allows all affiliate groups to meetoneitherWednesdayafternoonorThursdaymorning, and condenses the most intensive portions for the elected officialsintotheThursdayandFridaymeetings.Werealize it is often difficult for elected people to get away for the entire conference, so we hope you will be able to attend at leastthosetwodays–andthefalldaysalongtheMissouri are really something to look forward to! For those who are able to get away for more, there will be an entire program of interest to you, beginning on Wednesday morning and continuing until Friday at noon.

AnotherexcitingopportunityisWednesdayeveningevent, allowingyoutohavesometimeonyourowntoexploreall the City has to offer.We hope to arrange some “deals” for you with local businesses and establishments, also.

Our Thursday evening event will again be a highlight of the conference, with the banquet and a most amusing entertainment…you ’ll just have to wait to hear what we haveinstoreonthis,butitisguaranteedtobeagreattime for all.

And of course, your days will be packed with informative training, learning opportunities, and the chance to discuss yourlocalissueswithyourpeersonthestatewidelevel.At a registration fee of $100, which includes all the training sessionsforthreedays,twobreakfasts,twoluncheons,and a dinner and entertainment, this is the best deal your city will make all year!
