South Dakota Association of Code Enforcement Scholarship Funds

Applicant must be a member of the South Dakota Association of Code Enforcement (SoDACE) or become one prior to scholarship award.

Scholarshipfundsmustbeusedtoeducateandenhancethe performanceofthedutiesoftheCodeEnforcementOfficer.

The Scholarship fund allows for up to $1,000.00 per year. Thesefundsmaybeawardedtomorethanoneapplicantat thediscretionoftheSoDACEBoard.Allscholarshipfunds are subject to SoDACE board approval.

Educationalopportunitiesarenotlimitedstrictlytoin-state.

Acopyofapplicant’sCityCouncils’approvalforthetravel must be received with application.

All applications must be received in the office of the SDML,208IslandDrive,Ft.Pierre,SD57532orfaxedto 605-224-8655 no later than April 1 each year to be eligible.Applications will be reviewed and notification of award given at the Spring meeting.

An official scholarship form can be obtained by visiting www.sdmunicipalleague.org then the Code Enforcement section under theAffiliate Organizations tab. The 2018 South DakotaAssociation of Code Enforcement Spring Training will be held May 9 & 10 at the Ramkota Hotel in Pierre.

SD Governmental Finance Officers’Association Scholarship Funds

Applicant must be a member of the South Dakota Governmental Finance Officers’ Association (SDGFOA) or become one prior to scholarship award.

Scholarshipfundsmustbeusedtoeducateandenhancethe performance of your duties as Finance Officer orAssistant FinanceOfficer.

An applicant may apply for one of the following Scholarshipcategoriesperyear.

FOSchoolScholarshipFunds: • Applicant must be from a second or third class municipality. • A copy of applicant’s City Councils’ approval to attend FOSchool must be received with the application. • TheScholarshipfundallowsforupto$800.00per year. These funds may be awarded to more than oneapplicantatthediscretionoftheBoard.

Professional Development Class or College Course ScholarshipFunds: • Applicant must be from a second or third class municipality if city is paying expenses.Acopy of the City Councils’ approval to attend the course mustbereceivedwiththeapplication. • Applicant an be from any size municipality if applicantispayingexpenses. • A copy of the course description or agenda that includes the cost, must be included in the application. • TheScholarshipfundallowsforupto$800.00per year. These funds may be awarded to more than one applicant at the discretion of the Board. Reimbursement for expenses will be made upon receipt of documentation of course completion fromawardrecipient.

South Dakota Governmental Human Resource Association Scholarship Funds

Applicant must be a member of the South Dakota Governmental Human Resource Association or become one prior to scholarship award.

Applicant must be from a second or third class municipality.

Scholarship funds must be used to attend the annual SD Governmental Human Resource School. The Scholarship fund allows for up to four $150.00 scholarships per year. The SDGHRA will reimburse the scholarship recipient for expenses related to registration, lodging, and transportation. Recipient is responsible for keeping all receipts and submitting them to the SDMLfor reimbursement.All reimbursement costs are subject to the SDGHRABoard approval.

Acopyofapplicant’sCityCouncils’approvalforthetravel must be received with application.
