Our digital-based courses will allow you to learn a range of cuttingedge skills to prepare you for work in this constantly evolving industry. You will be able to learn all aspects of digital technology in our fully-equipped computer suites, which feature high-spec computers with industry-standard software and tools such as Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.

You will have the opportunity to work on client-set briefs and undertake industry work placements with local, national, and international employers. You will have the opportunity to listen to industry experts as they visit college to give you an insight into their role and the digital landscape.

Animation, Games Art & Film VFX

Level 3

Duration: 2 Years

Develop your creative skills and understanding of digital media. You will be introduced to industrystandard software with the aim of building skills and technical know how in audio-production, animation, film and video as well as game design, games engines, concept art, 3D modelling and the details and components of interactive media. Develop your technical ability in the virtual world to design and make 3D models of sets and characters, as well as research and plan concepts for games.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

Animation & Illustration

Level 3

Duration: 2 Years

This two-year course will teach you a high degree of skill in animation and illustration. You will focus on the narrative and develop characters and stories before bringing them to life through traditional 2D animation, graphic novels, and more advanced techniques such as stop motion animation.

Art & Design

Level 3

Duration: 2 Years

This course enables you to establish a practice and individual specialism through briefs, work experience and dynamic projects, cultivating an extensive portfolio. You will develop your analytical skills by undertaking research to give context to your work. You’ll also explore disciplines including graphic design, illustration, fashion, and fine art, building on skills and experimenting with further techniques in clay, glass, metal and textiles. We have several Mac Suites with a range of industry software including, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premier Pro.

Art & Design

Level 2

Duration: 1 Year

This course is designed to provide you with an interest in art and design, and give you an opportunity to explore some of the materials, methods and processes of many art and design activities. Learning will be executed through practical activities and developing projects to build an exciting and dynamic portfolio.

Three GCSEs grade 3-9 including Maths and/or English at grade 3, or completion of the Level 1 course. A portfolio of work will be required.

Art & Design Foundation

Level 3

Duration: 1 Year

On this creative course you will study and specialise in one of a range of art and design areas, including textiles, fashion, furniture, product, crafts (wood, metal, plastic, ceramics, glass, etc.), interior, jewellery, architecture, theatre, costume, graphics, illustration, animation, photography, film, printmaking, painting, sculpture, and fine art. Your studio practice will be supported by contextual studies.

Art, Design & Media

Level 1

Duration: 1 Year

Join us for this Level 1 course, where you will be able to express your creative talents. You will be able to learn techniques in drawing, painting, printmaking and ceramics, while exploring the history of art and design, and experimenting in 2D and 3D.

Creative Media Production & Technology

Level 3

Duration: 2 Years

Start your journey as a media professional with intensive production-based education and training across the four major media languages: TV & film, journalism, graphic design and radio/ audio. You will use your interest in computing, media, games, and animation to learn advanced skills in how to create virtual content and visual effects. This will lead you to discover your own creative pathway. You will also develop your academic research and writing skills, and gain industry experience through your assignments and work experience placements.

If you have a keen interest in media and like working practically, this creative course will help you learn and develop a range of media production skills. We’ll teach you about video production, photography, and design while giving you an insight into the media industry.

Creative Enterprise

Level 4

Duration: 1 Year

This UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise fosters the notion of entrepreneurship, the opportunity to develop an individual voice as a designer, and gives you the chance to develop a personal dialogue within the creative industries.

Our unique Esports course has been developed with the British Esports Association and gives you the skills and knowledge you need for a career in this exciting industry. You will learn about game design, marketing, business, teamwork, and event management, before organising your own Esports event.

Maintenance Engineering Technologies: Light & Electrical Vehicles

Duration: 2 Years

This course is designed for students that have completed hairdressing and barbering qualifications at Level 2 and above and wish to specialise in barbering. The course teaches fundamental clipper cuts, short fades, beard grooming, facial massage, hot towels and basic styling. You will then advance onto creative scissor cuts, cut-throat shaving and razor outlining, and advanced styling based on trends and themes. This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a senior barber or senior men’s hair stylist / hairdresser.

Level 3

Duration: 1 Year

Explore the well-established therapy treatments of reflexology, aromatherapy and remedial massage. Duration: 1 Year

Develop a range of essential technical and practical skills and knowledge, which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the make-up industry. You will learn how to apply lots of different types and styles of make-up, including photographic, shaping eyebrows, and eyelash perming, as well as creating magnificent hair styles.

Make-Up Artistry for Media

Level 3

Duration: 1 Year

Use your creative ability to explore and develop skills in all aspects of make-up. On this course you will develop techniques so that you are able to apply make-up to those who appear on television, in films, and on stage. You will also learn how to create camouflage make-up, fashion and photographic make-up, applying prosthetic pieces, applying air-brush make-up, and designing and applying face and body paint.

Duration: 1 Year

This brand-new course will develop your skills and teach you how to become a nail treatment specialist. You will learn how to perform the perfect manicure and pedicure while learning how to apply gel polish, create stunning nail art and nail enhancements.
