There were 46 participants, mostly catechists from the schools and institutes of the Salesian Family. The seminar was facilitated by Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil, SDB, and the team of the Catechetical Center of the Diocese of Ratchaburi.

“Dream and Help Others Dream” (Pope Francis to the Salesians)
R D Poor young people if, in addition to all that must be done to survive during this time, we kill, annul, or maim their dreams and their desire to do something great and beautiful with their lives.
Greetings to all of you, friends of Don Bosco’s charism around the world, or readers who may have chanced upon the Salesian Bulletin - the communication tool that Don Bosco himself founded and loved so much. Today’s greeting bears a message filled with the Family Spirit and expressive of wonderful closeness on the part of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, to the entire Salesian Family, even if it was specifically addressed to us, the Salesians of Don Bosco, at the time when we were holding our General Chapter. The Holy Father, this simple man of God and the most credible leader in the world, who prayed alone in the vast, empty piazza in front of St. Peter’s Basilica on a rainy and cold afternoon, as night was falling on March 27, 2020; this man of God who prayed for all mankind, which has, perhaps as never before, seemed so Promethean as in the present century, while, at the same time, never so fragile as when stricken with a virus that has paralyzed the planet;

this man of God who never before had been so alone when praying and, yet, at the same time, never so accompanied; this same man of God, just three weeks prior had wanted to be present to our General Chapter via a message that, far from formal, was familiar, purposeful, and challenging for the children of Don Bosco. Among the many significant things that he says to us, Pope Francis ends his message with the following words: “I would like to offer you these words as your ‘Good Night’ – just like those that take place in every Salesian House at the end of the day – inviting you to dream and to dream big – knowing that all the rest will be given to you in addition. Dream of open, fruitful, and evangelizing Houses capable of allowing the Lord to show very many young people His unconditional love and to permit you to enjoy the beauty to which you were called. Dream… not only for yourselves and for the good of the Congregation but for all the young people who are deprived of the strength, light, and comfort found in friendship with Jesus Christ, deprived of a community of faith that includes them, and deprived of a horizon that holds life and its meaning. Dream… and help others dream!” What a beautiful challenge this is for the numerous people who are part of
A E RREA Don Bosco’s Family and for so many others who feel a great affinity for this saint who lived for young people, for his boys [and for his girls through the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of whom Don Bosco also dreamed, and founded, together with St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello, to be the “living monument of his gratitude to Our Lady, Help of Christians”.] I am neither remaining silent about nor ignoring the pain people have experienced during this grave crisis that the world is living, the serious health crisis due to the pandemic that has already claimed almost 377,000 lives as I write these words. Neither am I ignoring another very serious crisis: the lack of wages and food for tens of millions in the world, with more than 100 million people having lost their jobs in just two months’ time, some of whom have received some State aid, but the majority who have not and who have no other recourse. Nor do I forget the great suffering of families, of children, and of young adults, especially the poorest who are always the most affected by anything that hits our society, even if it seemingly has nothing directly

to do with them. It is precisely because I do not ignore these realities, because I do not look the other way, that I feel a pressing need to make Pope Francis’ words a reality; i.e., to undertake both as a goal and a task to help young people dream, and dream big, because it is possible to dream at the same time as being realistic. Poor young people if, in addition to all that must be done to survive during this time, we kill, annul, or maim their dreams and their desire to do something great and beautiful with their lives. What is left for them if they don’t find real meaning and purpose in their lives – the kind of meaning that motivates and energizes them every morning? I am wondering: Do we adults remember our own dreams? Do you remember yours? I would like to think we do and that somehow they are coming true. Well then, let’s keep believing during this century in which so many are saying that the “utopias” have come crashing down, that it is possible to have and share visions, ideals, and dreams. Let us continue to believe and to desire that after this pandemic will have finished
that our world and our society will not just go back to pick up again where it left off, as though “regaining lost time”. I know there are things that we need to rethink, such as taking very seriously that our common home, planet earth, can “feel better” and “breathe more deeply” because it just returns to us what we give to it: life or stress. I want to dream and hope that we do not give up taking steps in favor of an ever more just society. I want to dream and I pray that the racism that exists in some parts of the world (and which is far more prevalent than we think), is disappearing. I want to dream and wish that we will trust and believe more in our young people and in the generations that will follow us. This is why I make the words of Pope Francis my own, “May I dream and help all those whom I meet dream, too.”

มอบหน้ากากอนามัยให้กับครอบครัวซาเลเซียน Giving Sanitary Masks to the Salesian Family คณะซาเลเซียนได้มอบหน้ากากอนามัยให้กบั บุคลากรในครอบครัว ซาเลเซียน หน้ากากอนามัยดังกล่าวได้รับมอบจากเครือบริษัท CP โดย ดร.วัลลภ เจียรวนนท์ รองประธานที่ปรึกษาอาวุโสและ ประธานสมาคมสมาพันธ์ศิษย์เก่าซาเลเซียนประเทศไทย
The Salesian Province of Thailand joined the Paneetatthayasai family to mourn the death of Teresa Ajana Paneetatthayasai, the mother of Fr. Anthony Boonlert Paneetatthayasai. On 30 June 2020, there was a funeral Mass for her soul at the chapel of Don Bosco Technological College - Bangkok. From there, the burial followed at the Santikham Cemetery, Nakorn Pathom Province.
The salesian province handed out ‘sanitary masks’ to the staff of the schools of the Salesian Family. These sanitary masks have been received from CP Company by Dr.wanlop Chiaravanont, the senior vice-president of the company and the president of the Federation of Salesian Alumni of Thailand.

ประชุมคณะกรรมการค�ำสอนซาเลเซียน Meeting of the Salesian Commission on Catechetics เมื่อวันที่ 10 กรกฎาคม 2020 แผนกค�ำสอนซาเลเซียนจัด การประชุมครั้งที่ 2/2020 การประชุมแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ช่วง คือ ช่วงเช้า คณะกรรมการได้เดินทางไปดูงานอภิบาลและงานค�ำสอน ที่โรงเรียนพระหฤทัยคอนแวนต์ ส่วนในภาคบ่าย คณะกรรมการ เดินทางกลับมาประชุมที่ส�ำนักงานเจ้าคณะแขวงฯ On 10 July 2020, the Salesian Commission on Catechetics held their second meeting for the year 2020. The meeting was divided into two parts: in the morning, the members went to Sacred Heart School - Klong Toey to observe their pastoral and catechetical work. In the afternoon, the members came back to the provincial house to continue with their meeting. 6

On 6-7 July 2020, the Salesian aspirants of Huahin, Prachuabkhirikhan Province [Mathayom 1-3] and Nazareth House, Ratchaburi Province [senior high-school levels] organized joint activities in Huahin. This annual activity was done to create friendship among the two groups of aspirants and to welcome them to the new school year 2563/2020.

นักเรียนซาเลเซียนชนะเลิศ การแข่งขันคณิตศาสตร์ประเทศไทย A Salesian Student Crowned Champion In The National Mathematics Contest เมื่อวันที่ 4 กรกฎาคม 2020 ด.ช.วริศ สุวรรณชาตรี ชั้น ป.3 โรงเรียนแสงทองวิทยา จ.สงขลา ได้รับรางวัลจากรายการแข่งขัน คณิตศาสตร์ประเทศไทย ครัง้ ที่ 8 TMC- Thailand Mathematics Contest จากศาสตราจารย์เกียรติคุณ นายแพทย์เกษม วัฒนชัย องคมนตรี จ�ำนวน 2 รางวัล คือ รางวัลชนะเลิศคะแนนสูงสุด ระดับชั้น ป.2 และรางวัล CHAMPION ระดับชั้น ป.2
On 4 July 2020, the PDO sector of the Salesian Province of Thailand distributed dry foods to the physically handicapped, foreign laborers, the low-income, out-of-work and elderly people, who were still affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. These people were living around the Pattanakarn area. Alumni of the salesian aspirantate and volunteers helped prepare the goods shared and they helped as well to distribute these.
On 4 July 2020, Warit Suwannachatri, grade 3 level student of Saeng Thong School, Songkhla Province, received the two prizes in the 8th Thailand Mathematics Contest from Honorary Professor Dr. Kasem Watanachai, a Privy Councillor. He received the highest score for Grade 2 level and champion for Grade 2 level as well.
ดอนบอสโกกรุงเทพ เตรียมเปิดหลักสูตรใหม่ Mechatronics Don Bosco Technological College Opening of “Mechatronics”
วันที่ 13 กรกฎาคม 2020 เจ้าหน้าที่จากกระทรวงศึกษาธิการ ระดับสูง 7 ท่านและเจ้าหน้าที่จากองค์กรอื่นๆ ด้านการศึกษารวม จ�ำนวน 30 ท่านได้มาร่วมเข้าฟังการบรรยายเกี่ยวกับหลักสูตร Mechatronics ทวิ ภ าคี ม าตรฐานเยอรมั น หลั ก สู ต ร 5 ปี ที่ วิ ท ยาลั ย เทคโนโลยี ด อนบอสโก กรุ ง เทพ ซึ่ ง ทางวิ ท ยาลั ย เตรี ย มเปิ ด ในปี ก ารศึ ก ษา 2564 จากนั้ น ทุ ก ท่ า นได้ เข้ า ชม โรงงาน รวมถึงห้องปฎิบัติงานของแผนกใหม่ Mechatronics ด้วย On 13 July 2020, seven high officials from the Education Department and other 30 staff from the various sectors of the education department were present to listen to the explanation of the new curriculum “Mechatronics”, a bilateral agreement with Germany with a curriculum of 5 years which the Don Bosco Technological College - Bangkok will open beginning in school year 2564 / 2021. After the session, the party was invited to have a first-hand look at the various shops and laboratories, including that of the new Mechatronics section.

มิสซาเปิดปีการศึกษา Mass on Opening of the New School Year วันที่ 3 กรกฎาคม 2020 คุณพ่อกิติชัย ใสสว่างเป็นประธานใน พิธบี ชู าขอบพระคุณโอกาสเปิดปีการศึกษาใหม่และโอกาสวันศุกร์ตน้ เดือน ให้กับนักเรียนและครูคาทอลิกของโรงเรียนดอนบอสโกวิทยา จ.อุดรธานี ณ วัดน้อยของโรงเรียน
On 24-25 June 2020, Don Bosco Home - Bangsak, Phangnga organized formation sessions for the members of the home in preparation for the opening of school year 2563/2020. The theme of the formation sessions was “Looking at Oneself, Looking Ahead At Life’s Ways” at Ka Chong Hill Resort, Trang Province. Dr. Praphon Viraphornsawan and Prof. Thotsachak Panyanant were invited as the resource persons for this formation sessions.
On 3 July 2020, Fr.Kitichai Saisawang presided at the celebration of the Holy Eucharist on the opening of the new school year and on the occasion of the first Friday for the catholic students and teachers of Don Bosco Vitthaya School, Udonthani Province. The celebration was held at the school chapel.
