3rd EAO Salesian Studies-Seminar-Workshop

ระหว่างวันที่ 8-30 พฤษภาคม 2019 สมาชิกซาเลเซียนและบุคคลากรฆราวาส (ครูค�ำสอน ครูแผนกอภิบาล) ในสถาบัน ซาเลเซียนแขวงไทย ซึ่งประกอบไปด้วย ประเทศไทย (14 คน) กัมพูชา (2 คน) และ สปป.ลาว (1 คน) รวมจ�ำนวน 17 คน รับการ อบรมหัวข้อ “คุณพ่อบอสโกและจิตตารมณ์ ซาเลเซียน” ณ บ้านอบรมแม่พระองค์ อุปถัมภ์ ที่ Nasugbu, Batangas ประเทศ ฟิลิปปินส์ มีผู้มาร่วมอบรมทั้งสิ้น 44 คน จาก 12 ประเทศในเอเชียและโอเชียเนีย

From 8-30 May 2019, the Salesians and their lay mission partners from the various educational centers of the Thai Province [Thailand Cambodia - Laos] joined the seminar -workshop on “Don Bosco and His Spirituality”. This is held at the Mary Help of Christians Formation Center at Nasugbu, Batangas Philippines. All-in-all there are 44 participants from the 12 countries of the EAO Region.

ฉลองพระเมตตา Feast of the Divine Mercy

On the 28th of April 2019, Fr. John Bosco Dheparat Pitisant, the Provincial of the Thai Province, presided at the celebration of the Holy Eucharist on the Feast of the Divine Mercy, held at the Church of Mary Help of Christians - Krungthep Kritha.

At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, there was a procession of the image of the Divine Mercy around the Church area.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS STILL AT WORK

Just a short while ago I was in Goa, India, where I saw how amid the palm trees and the fine sand of the sea there rise up cathedrals and churches built during the 16th and 17th centuries. One of these shrines is the Basilica of the Good Jesus, which has become a site for pilgrimages, especially for Christians but also for believers of other religions, because here lie the remains of St. Francis Xavier, the missionary from Navarre who evangelized the Far East and was a disciple of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits.

Even though St. Francis Xavier died in China in 1552, his remains rest in this most beautiful basilica situated next to the cathedral and to the church of St. Francis of Assisi. This place in which his mortal remains rest was erected between 1594 and 1605. His body is conserved there. Its incorruptibility was the miracle for which St. Francis Xavier was canonized in 1622.

Accompanied by other Salesians and some lay persons, I had the privilege of celebrating Holy Mass on the altar at the tomb of this great and holy Jesuit missionary. I asked to celebrate the Mass in honor of St. John Bosco to beg him to intercede for us. Why did I do this? The main reason is because Don Bosco is another great missionary. It was a very simple Mass, beautiful, and profound. Through the intercession of St. Francis Xavier and Don Bosco, I presented to the Lord the Salesian mission throughout the whole world and our great care and concern for youngsters and young adults everywhere, especially the poorest.

“My sons and daughters will go for me” Somebody might ask why I speak of Don Bosco as a great missionary since he never went as a missionary ad gentes. Don Bosco sent his sons, his Salesians, to the missions, but he himself never went as a missionary to

foreign lands. We know this for certain, but it is, nonetheless, very inaccurate.

The information I offer you here now suffices when speaking of the great missionary heart of Don Bosco. When Don Bosco died on January 31, 1888, the Salesians were 754 in number; what is impressive is that Don Bosco had already sent 153 – 20%

of his sons – as missionaries to South America. Now, tell me that this is not a response to a true missionary passion – that very same passion which he himself

had declared various times in his letters: that he wanted to be a missionary, but it would be his sons who would go.

While in Goa, I gave thanks to the Lord for this missionary miracle. The Holy Spirit has guided and accompanied the entire mission of evangelization throughout all Asia from the first Franciscan, Dominican, and Jesuit missionaries just as he has done for Don Bosco’s sons and daughters. In India today there are 2,786 Salesians of Don Bosco and several thousand consecrated religious sisters of various congregations (the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians, the Catechist Sisters of Mary Immaculate Help of Christians, etc.).

This is all a true grace.

the opportunities for their future. They sing magnificently. They smile. We greeted each other and – of course – we took our photo, and they even learned how to say “Hola y hasta la vista”!

Finally, I thought that 170 years ago the boys in Valdocco, Turin, lived just like this with our beloved Don Bosco.

Today, his missionary heart does exactly the same for these boys and girls around the world through his sons and daughters who are living as though in another Valdocco and another Mornese.

Today with the grace of communion that exists between the Church already in Paradise, the Church Triumphant, and us, the Church Militant, our holy missionaries St. Francis Xavier and Don Bosco continue to bless the mission and, together with the Lord, give life to these people and to these boys and girls in beautiful Goa, too.

Here one experiences and feels that the centuries do not distance us from what is essential and most authentic in life or from that evangelization which continues most wonderfully today.

During this month dedicated to our Mother, I ask Mary Help of Christians to continue to accompany the mission in the Name of the Lord throughout the world. May our Salesian Family continue to be as faithful to the mission today as they have always been until now.

May the Lord bless you and Mary Help of Christians accompany you.

After that beautiful Mass, that very same morning I was able to meet face-to-face some of my brother Salesians who accompany the children they have rescued from the streets. We spent a glorious morning with a group of 40 young boys of differing ages, ranging from 10 to 15 years old.

Their eyes shine with a special light.

Camping อภิรติกชนซาเลเซียนหัวหิน 2019 Summer Camp 2019 for the Aspirants of Huahin อภิ ร ติ ก ชนซาเลเซี ย นหั ว หิ น ร่ ว มกิ จ กรรม Camping ภาค ฤดู ร ้ อ น ระหว่ า งวั น ที่ 11-21 เมษายน ค.ศ.2019 ที่ บ ้ า นเณร หัวหิน จ.ประจวบ โดยมีกิจกรรมเพื่อเสริมสร้างการเติบโตทั้งฝ่าย ร่างกายและจิตใจในสไตล์การอบรมแบบซาเลเซียน

Hatyai, Thailand - The Salesian Science Maths English Program of Saenthong Vittaya and Thidanukro schools organized the “SME Volunteers activity” run by Bro. Thanad Anan, the director of Saenthong Vittaya school with 493 students and 17 teachers.

The Salesian aspirants of Huahin participated in the summer camp held from the 11- 21 April 2019 at the seminary in Huahin, Prachuabkhirikhan. They were involved in various activities that would enhance their physical and spiritual growth, according to the Salesian style of formation.

วันที่ 18-19 เมษายน ค.ศ.2019 ครูและนักเรียนของโรงเรียน เซนต์ดอมินกิ รวม 4 คน เป็นจิตอาสามาช่วยจัดค่ายวิทยาศาสตร์ให้ กับนักเรียนโรงเรียนอุปถัมภ์วิทยา พนม จ.สุราษฎร์ธานี ทีมงานนี้ แสดงความรักความเสียสละที่ยิ่งใหญ่ สร้างความประทับใจให้กับ น้องๆ ที่พนมอย่างมาก สมกับลูกพ่อบอสโกที่อุทิศตนเพื่อสร้าง สังคมที่ดีกว่าจริงๆ

From the 18-19 April 2019, four teachers and students from St. Dominic School volunteered to set-up a ‘Science Camp’ for the students of Upatham School, Phanom, Suratthani Province. The team showed much love and sacrifice which created big impressions from the younger students of Phanom, worthy of being called ‘sons of Don Bosco’ who dedicate themselves to create a truly better society.

The boarder section of Sarasit School, Banpong, Ratchaburi Province organized various developmental activities for the boarders, aside from the academic ones. There were educational trips and sports competitions which helped the young to live together as a community and learn some life skills. This was done from the 25th of March to the 26th of April 2019.

คุณพ่อสมิต แดงอ�ำพันธ์ เป็นประธานในพิธีบูชาขอบพระคุณ ปลงศพยอแซฟ สุดใจ แดงอ�ำพันธ์ (บิดาของคุณพ่อสมิต) พร้อม กับคุณพ่อเจ้าคณะและสมาชิกซาเลเซียน ที่วัดดวงหทัยนิรมลของ แม่พระ (ปากลัด) จ.สมุทรปราการ เมือ่ วันที ่ 9 พฤษภาคม ค.ศ.2019

เมือ่ วันที ่ 30 เมษายน ค.ศ.2019 นักเรียนของโรงเรียนดอนบอสโก พระตะบอง ประเทศกั ม พู ช า ท� ำ กิ จ กรรมจิ ต อาสาเก็ บ ขยะและ ท�ำความสะอาดในบริเวณโรงเรียนและในชุมชนรอบโรงเรียน ทั้งนี้ เพื่อฝึกจิตส�ำนึกถึงการเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของสังคมและการท�ำความดี เพื่อส่วนรวม

Fr. Smith Daengamphan was the main celebrant at the Eucharistic Service for the soul of Mr. Joseph Sudjai Daengamphan, his father. Many other Salesian confreres joined Fr. Dheparat Pitisant, the Provincial, in this funeral service held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Paklat District, Samut Prakarn Province on the 9th of May 2019. The Thai Province sent their condolences to the family.

วันครอบครัวเขตศาสนปกครองสุราษฎร์ฯ 2019 Family Day 2019 of Surat Thani Diocese เมื่อวันที่ 16-17 เมษายน ค.ศ.2019 คุณพ่อเทพรัตน์ ปิติสันต์ เจ้าคณะแขวงฯ และสมาชิกซาเลเซียนทีท่ ำ� งานในเขตศาสนปกครอง สุราษฎร์ฯ ร่วมงานวันครอบครัวเขตศาสนปกครองสุราษฎร์ธานี 2019 ณ บ้ า นชุ ม พาบาลโดยมี หั ว ข้ อ ในปี นี้ ว ่ า “50 ปี แ ห่ ง งาน แพร่ธรรมเขตศาสนปกครองสุราษฎร์ธานี” ในงานมีการแบ่งปัน ประสบการณ์แพร่ธรรมของบรรดาธรรมทูตและมีการลงเรือไปเยีย่ ม ชุมชนแม่ค้าขนมจาก อู่ต่อเรือและโรงเรียนฝึกลิง From the 16th - 17th April 2019, Fr. Dheparat Pitisant, the Provincial, and the Salesian confreres working in Surat Thani Diocese, joined the celebration of ‘Family Day 2019’ held at the Good Shepherd House of the Bishop. The theme of the celebration was: “50 Years of Evangelization of Surat Thani Diocese”.

Last 30 April 2019, the students of Don Bosco School, Battambang, Cambodia volunteered to collect the garbage and clean the school area and surrounding local communities in order to implant among them the sense of social belonging and to do good to the common people.

สงกรานต์ ซ.ด. ชื่นฉ�่ำใจ Wet and Fresh at the Songkran Celebration of St. Dominic School โรงเรียนเซนต์ดอมินกิ ได้จดั กิจกรรมวัน “สงกรานต์ ซ.ด. ชืน่ ฉ�ำ่ ใจ” โดยมีพธิ สี รงน�ำ้ แม่พระ นักบุญยอห์น บอสโก นักบุญดอมินกิ ซาวีโอ พิ ธี ร ดน�้ ำ ขอพรจากคณะผู ้ ใ หญ่ คุ ณ ครู อ าวุ โ ส การแสดงขบวน กลองยาว การแสดงเต้ น ประกอบเพลงของนั ก เรี ย น เมื่ อ วั น ที่ 11 เมษายน ค.ศ.2019 On Thursday, the 11th of April 2019, St. Dominic School organized the ‘Wet & Fresh Songkran Celebration of St. Dominic School’ to promote this beautiful Thai custom and culture among the students. There was the bathing of lustral water on the statues of Mother Mary, St. John Bosco and St. Dominic Savio. There was also the pouring of lustral water on the superiors and the elders, asking for their blessings.

Charan Thongpiyaphoom, the director of Upatham Vithaya, to act as volunteers to share and exchange know-how and experiences and to help the younger ones to get-ready the ‘science classroom’ of Upatham Vithaya School - Phanom, from the 21-26 April 2019.

Renewal of Religious Profession

สมาชิกซาเลเซียนได้ท�ำพิธีรื้อฟื้นการปฏิญาณตน ดังนี้

วันที่ 17 เมษายน ค.ศ.2019 บ.ยอห์น บอสโก นารี เพิน และ บ.ยอห์น บอสโก สุมุนี คง ได้รื้อฟื้นการปฏิญาณตนที่วัดน้อยของหมู่คณะดอนบอสโกพนมเปญ ประเทศกัมพูชา โดยมี คุณพ่อโรเอล โซโต ผู้แทนแขวงและคุณพ่อเลโอ โอโชวา คุณพ่อไมเกิ้ล อรุญ คุณพ่อราวาสโก เจราร์ด และอาสาสมัครร่วมในพิธี วันที่ 24 เมษายน ค.ศ.2019 บราเดอร์วรายุทธ เจริญภูมิ และบราเดอร์ ชิมา อาโบ๊ ชาว ไนจี เรี ย ได้ รื้ อ ฟื ้ น ค� ำ ปฏิ ญ าณเป็ น นั ก บวชซาเลเซี ย น ระหว่ า งพิ ธี บู ช าขอบพระคุ ณ โดย คุณพ่อสแทน นิสบอส อธิการของหมู่คณะ เป็นผู้รับค�ำปฏิญาณ ณ บ้านเณรรัตทิสบอน กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม วันที่ 1 พฤษภาคม ค.ศ.2019 ได้มีพิธีรื้อฟื้นการปฏิญาณตนของบราเดอร์ซาเลเซียน 5 ท่าน ได้แก่ ภ.ซารอง เอง, บ.สุรชัย รัตนย่อมงามดี, บ.จันดารา นร, บ.บุญมี จรูญสาคร และบ.สุ เ ชาว์ สุ ข ด� ำ รงวนา ที่ วั ด น้ อ ยของบ้ า นซาเลเซี ย นสามพราน โดยมี คุณพ่ออารอน อัลโกเซบา รองเจ้าคณะแขวงฯ เป็นประธานในพิธ ี พร้อมกับสมาชิกซาเลเซียน บางท่านร่วมเป็นสักขีพยาน

The Salesian confreres who had made the renewal of their religious profession:

17 April 2019: Bro. John Bosco Nary Phen and Bro. John Bosco Somony Kong made the renewal of their temporary religious profession at the community chapel of Don Bosco Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Fr. Roel Soto, the delegate, officiated the service.

On the 24th of April 2019, Bro. Warayuth Charoenphoom and Bro. Chima Aboe, from Nigeria, made the renewal of their religious profession during the Holy Mass presided by Fr. Stan Nisbos, the rector of the formation community - Ratisbonne House, Jerusalem.

On the 1st of May 2019, there was the renewal of the religious profession of five Salesian confreres. They were Bro. John Bosco Sarorng Eng, Bro. Andrew Surachai Rattanayomngamdee, Bro. John Bosco Chandara Norn, Bro. John Boonmee Charoonsakorn, and Bro. Luke Suchao Sukdamrongwana.

The ceremony was held at the community chapel of Salesianum, Sampran.

Fr. Aaron Alcoseba, the vice provincial, presided over the service.

Catechetical Camp: Faith Formation Camp for Thai Youth ช่ ว งปิ ด เทอมภาคฤดู ร ้ อ นที่ ผ ่ า นมา เขตวั ด ในการดู แ ลของ คณะซาเลเซี ย น อาทิ เ ช่ น 3 จั ง หวั ด ชายแดนภาคใต้ , วัดแม่พระองค์อปุ ถัมภ์ จ.สุราษฎร์ฯ, วัดนักบุญยอแซฟ ถ�ำ้ สิงห์ จ.ชุมพร, วัดแม่พระเมืองลูร์ด หาดใหญ่ จ.สงขลา, วัดนักบุญยอแซฟ บ้านโป่ง จ.ราชบุ รี ฯลฯ ได้ จั ด ค่ า ยค� ำ สอนภาคฤดู ร ้ อ นให้ กั บ เด็ ก ๆ เพื่ อ ให้ ก ารอบรมความเชื่ อ อย่ า งเข้ ม ข้ น ซึ่ ง นอกจากการเรี ย น ค� ำ สอนแล้ ว ภายในค่ า ยยั ง มี ก ารร่ ว มกิ จ ศรั ท ธาต่ า งๆ เช่ น มิ ส ซา การสวดสายประค� ำ การเดิ น รู ป 14 ภาค รวมทั้ ง กิ จ กรรมสั น ทนาการ การเล่ น กี ฬ า ฯลฯ กิ จ กรรม เหล่ า นี้ ช ่ ว ยให้ เ ด็ ก ๆ ได้ ฝ ึ ก การใช้ ชี วิ ต ร่ ว มกั น และซึ ม ซั บ บรรยากาศของความเชื่อคาทอลิกในภาคปฏิบัติ อนึ่ง ค่ายค�ำสอนนี้ได้รับความร่วมมือจากสมาชิกในครอบครัว ซาเลเซียน เช่น คณะธิดาแม่พระองค์อปุ ถัมภ์ คณะผูร้ บั ใช้ฯ ซาเลเซียน ผูร้ ว่ มงาน สามเณรซาเลเซียนจากบ้านสามพราน บรรดาครูคำ� สอนใน โรงเรียนซาเลเซียน และบรรดาผู้น�ำเยาวชนซาเลเซียนในเขตวัดที่มา ร่วมจัดค่าย ก่อให้เกิดความร่วมมือกันในระหว่างสมาชิกและเป็นการ ส่งเสริมกระแสเรียกนักบวชให้กับเด็กๆ ด้วย During the summer holidays, which in Thailand fall in

the months of March and April, the churches entrusted to the Salesians organize catechism camps for children between 8 and 15 years old. The more than 500 participants, coming from the Salesian and public schools, received intense training to prepare for the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Reconciliation, Communion and Confirmation) and also participated in various group and sports activities.
