OUR MISSION:
To preserve the dignity and well-being of commercial and sexually exploited men, women and children through prevention, protection, prosecution and partnership.
Headquartered in San Diego, California is a 501 © 3 non-profit that was established as a volunteer organization in 1997 and formally incorporated in 2002.
BSCC’s goals and objectives include serving as a national wide model with an emphasis on border cities and state to better analyze regions, identify victims and expand our network of wrap around services. BSCC also facilities a multi-disciplinary coalition with law enforcement, social service providers, media, education, and a variety of community members.
BSCC is a network of over 120 government and non-profit agencies in the US and Latin America Convened to bilaterally prevent and intervene against human trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation.

Human Trafficking is the recruitment, smuggling, abducting, transporting harboring, buying or selling a person by means of force, fraud, threats, or coercion for the purpose of labor or sexual.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TRAFFICKING AND SMUGGLING
Smuggling
Relationship ends at the border. Transaction is made for the smuggling service. Person is free to leave.
Trafficking
Relationship does not end at the border. No transaction is made, debts are incurred. Person is NOT free to leave. Slavery.
WARNING SIGNS
• Avoid eye contact.
• Hyper vigilant or paranoid behavior
• Lack of trust toward other
• Loss of sense of time and space (due to force enclosure and trauma)
• Evidence of being controlled
• Evidence of inability to move or leave job
• Bruises or other signs of physical abuse
• Fear, depression, withdrawal.
• Not speaking on own behalf and/or non English speaking
• No passport or other form of identification or documentation.
• Possible mental health and/or substance abuse problems.
