SDA secures new Agreement at Romeo’s
Following extensive negotiations, Romeo’s workers have voted up the new Enterprise Agreement with a 98% yes vote.
The new Agreement secures: » Strong and regular pay rises » Improved rest breaks provision » Stronger leave clauses » Increases to junior rates » Better rights for part-timers
The new Agreement is now at the Fair Work Commission for approval. Changes to conditions will come into effect once approved..
Stronger conditions secured at Red Rooster
The expired Red Rooster Agreement has now officially been terminated by the Fair Work Commission, thanks to an application by the SDA.
This means Red Rooster workers will now be covered by the Fast Food Industry Award and will receive: » Regular pay rises - usually in July each year » Late-night penalty rates » Increased public holiday penalty rates The SDA worked hard to ensure that many of the beneficial provisions in the Enterprise Agreement continue to apply.
SDA Takes Officeworks to Federal Court over RDO Issue
The SDA has lodged a claim in the Federal Court against Officeworks over their failure to follow the rostering provisions in the Officeworks Agreement.
Under the Agreement, full-time workers cannot be rostered to work more than 19 days in a 4-week cycle. If they work more than this, they must receive the appropriate overtime rates of pay. Despite two Fair Work Commission rulings in our favour, Officeworks has refused to pay impacted workers their owed overtime. Being rostered correctly and paid correctly isn’t optional - it’s the law. That’s why we’re now pursuing this case in the Federal Court to make sure workers aren’t shortchanged. We will keep members at Officeworks updated as this progresses.
Negotiations begin at Target
Following delays caused by COVID-19 restrictions, bargaining for a new Target Agreement has resumed.
At the bargaining table, the SDA will be fighting to secure:
» Pay rises for everyone » Improved penalty rates » Hard-won SDA union conditions
We will keep members at Target updated as negotiations progress.
Bargaining set to commence at Big W
The SDA is about to restart bargaining for a new Enterprise Agreement at Big W.
While we surveyed many Big W workers last year, there have been some changes at Big W recently and that workers priorities and your concerns might have changed. That’s why the SDA is continuing to survey Big W workers to find out what’s important to them in 2022.

The SDA is continuing to negotiate a proposed agreement at Jaycar in South Australia following a Majority Support Determination.
We’re fighting to secure better rights for casual workers, changes to the bonus system and seniority pay, amongst other improvements. Once the agreement is finalised, all Jaycar workers in SA will have the opportunity to vote on whether they accept the agreement.
No agreement will be put in place without a majority of Jaycar workers voting yes.
Surveying begins at EG Group
The SDA and EG Group are about to start negotiations for a new Enterprise Agreement. In the lead up to bargaining, SDA Organisers have been out in stores to survey EG Group workers and find out what’s important to them.
Work at EG Group? Take the SDA’s EBA survey now:
The current Dulux Agreement is expiring in September 2022 and the SDA has commenced bargaining for a new Agreement.
The SDA has been surveying members at Dulux to find out what they would like to see improved or secured in the next Enterprise Agreement.
This feedback has helped form our log of claims for bargaining.
Proposed EBA voted down at Bunnings Trade
The SDA is continuing to engage with Bunnings to secure a new Enterprise Agreement at Bunnings Trade.
In May, the proposed new EBA for Bunnings Trade was voted down by 53% of team members who voted.
This sends a strong signal to the company that they must return to the bargaining table with a higher wage offer that guarantees a pay rise for all workers.
