Association News

From the Board of Directors

Our mission as the SCOV Board is to lead in maintaining and enhancing the quality of life in Sun City Oro Valley as an active adult community.

All Board minutes, agendas and reports are available online. Board meetings are open to residents.

Board of Directors - Tod Milton

todmiltonscov@gmail.com

Many years ago, way back in the mid-1980s, when SCOV was only 15 or so years old, Chevrolet began using the advertising slogan, “The heartbeat of America.” I would like to use that now regarding the various committees that drive the life of Sun City and have done so for many years. These committees are “The heartbeat of SCOV.” Without these resident-run groups, our community would not be the wonderful place it is.

There are five types of committees; Standing, Advisory, Service and Support, Ad Hoc and Other. Service and Support committees report to the General Manager while the rest report to the Board of Directors. For the purposes of this discussion, I will focus on the various committees reporting to the Board of Directors, which include the Long-Range Planning, Properties, Finance and Budget, Aquatic and Fitness, Golf Advisory and the Architectural Review Committees. The members of these committees have extensive experience in critical functional areas as well as in leadership and management. They are dedicated to maintaining and improving Sun City. The fact is that nothing really gets accomplished in Sun City without these dedicated volunteers.

One of the truly amazing things in Sun City is the imagination and initiative the residents of this community display every day. The good ideas are endless and that keeps the community moving in the right direction. The Board encourages every resident to take their great idea to the requisite committee. That is the place to start.

This year the community will begin to routinely see and hear the efforts of these committees at every Board of Directors meeting. These monthly committee reports will be short but will highlight the initiatives on which each committee is focusing, thereby increasing the information flow to all of us. In so doing, the objective is to raise awareness of the important work they are doing, the initiatives under consideration and to ensure there are no surprises for the community.

General Manager - Sandy Seddon sseddon@suncityorovalley.com 520-917-8080

At Sun City Oro Valley, transparency is more than a goal; it is a commitment. As leadership, both the Board and management, take that responsibility seriously. We work hard to make sure residents have access to the information they need, understand how decisions are made and know that their voices matter. That is why it can be frustrating, as General Manager, to hear the claim that we “are not being transparent.”

The truth is that the information is available. It is shared in multiple formats regularly and with the intent of keeping everyone in the loop.

We make it a priority to communicate through:

• Weekly email updates, which include key announcements, reminders and Board or operational updates.

• Monthly Board meetings, open to all residents, with published agendas and minutes.

• Board/GM Chats, a monthly one-hour session where questions can be asked directly of both leadership groups.

• The Tipster, which provides not only community news, but columns directly from staff and Board members offering insight into decisions.

• Our website, which houses financial reports, governing documents, project time lines, committee updates and more.

• Resident email communications to the GM or Board are encouraged and frequently used by residents to share comments or specific concerns. Every message receives a timely response, often the same day or within a few days. These exchanges not only keep communication open but, in some cases, lead to adjustments in procedures or policies that benefit the entire community. We truly value the ideas and feedback residents provide.

The above processes are in place by the Board and Management because we believe that residents deserve to know what is happening in their community. What makes the “lack of transparency” comments hard to understand is that the Board members and I are each available. Residents are encouraged to reach out, schedule meetings, ask questions, call or stop by the Welcome Center. I have had countless one-on-one conversations with residents who wanted clarification or just to be heard, and Board members have as well. That door is open and always will be.

Being transparent also means sharing information that may not always be welcome but is important for residents to know. We welcome healthy discussion, differing opinions and constructive feedback. That is how good communities grow stronger. If anything is unclear or seems to be missing,

Fall Activities in Southern Arizona

Sun City collectively cheers because that means the daily forecast finally dips below surface-of-the-sun. While other states are raking leaves and sipping cider in cozy sweaters, we’re celebrating the fact that we can park our golf cart and walk into any building at Sun City without breaking into a sweat. In Southern Arizona, fall looks a little different and that’s part of the charm. Instead of bundling up against chilly winds, locals are usually trading out their flip-flops for slightly warmer footwear. With sunny skies, cooler evenings and plenty of unique activities, autumn here is a season worth celebrating. Of course, fall wouldn’t be complete without pumpkins. Yes, pumpkins grow in the desert. Local farms and pumpkin patches, like Marana Pumpkin Patch, Arizona Pumpkin Patch and Apple Annie’s in Willcox, offer a classic autumn experience with a Southwestern twist. Families can pick pumpkins, enjoy corn mazes, and indulge in warm cider donuts. Just don’t be surprised if you’re still wearing sunglasses and sunscreen while sipping that hot apple cider. Festivals also bring a special sparkle to the season. From Tucson’s All Souls Procession, a breathtaking cultural event honoring loved ones who have passed, to Oktoberfest celebrations

in Mount Lemmon’s cooler, pine-filled setting, there’s something for everyone. Add in farmers’ markets bursting with fall produce, think fresh roasted green chiles, squash and pomegranates and you’ve got the perfect recipe for seasonal cheer. Tucson Meet Yourself has been providing a wonderful experience of live performances, and delicious food from many different cultures since 1974. And let’s not forget stargazing. With Southern Arizona’s famous dark skies, crisp fall evenings are perfect for pulling up a lawn chair, wrapping in a light blanket and marveling at constellations. Places like Kitt Peak and Mt. Graham International Observatory host programs where you can learn a bit of science while soaking in the beauty of the night sky. So, while we do not experience the crunchy leaves and frosty mornings of other regions, Sun City offers its own brand of

fall magic. With blue skies, outdoor adventures, tasty seasonal treats, and a lively calendar of events, autumn in the desert is less about the chill in the air and more about the warmth of community and celebration.

we want to know about it. We do not hide information, and we do not make decisions in a vacuum. To make this approach work, we need residents to meet us halfway by reading the materials and attending the meetings, when possible, and asking questions if something does not make sense to them. We cannot fix concerns we do not know about, and we cannot respond to rumors without facts.

As your General Manager, and together with the Board, I take pride in the work we do to keep our residents informed and involved. Our leadership team is committed to doing even better where we can, and we need residents to use the tools available, come to us with concerns and stay engaged. Transparency is not something for which we are striving. It is something we live every day.

Let us keep the conversation going together.

SCOV 40th Anniversary Celebration: "Forty and Fabulous"

The "Forty and Fabulous" SCOV 40th Anniversary Celebration is an initiative developed by the Supplemental Revenue Stream Task Force. This month-long event invites all clubs to participate, with support from the Anniversary Committees, by organizing activities that will raise funds for their respective treasuries.

Examples of potential events include a tournament hosted by the Pickleball Club, collaborative gatherings organized by the Golf Leagues and an art competition. In addition to clubspecific programs, there will be fundraising activities dedicated to supporting the Capital Fund.

Asphalt Project Information

The asphalt improvement project in Sun City Oro Valley is scheduled to begin in midOctober. This effort is a coordinated partnership between SCOV and Copper State Paving. The contract is currently being routed for signatures, and Copper State will soon provide detailed maps and schedules to help guide residents through the different phases of work. The project is anticipated to begin on October 10 and conclude on November 7. The concrete repairs are planned for October 13–22, followed by asphalt patching October 22–24. Additional tasks include crack sealing, which will cause minimal traffic restrictions, and seal coating, which will require 24-hour closures.

Parking lot reconstruction on the road to the restaurant from Rancho Vistoso and the road south of the tennis courts will involve milling on October 27, grading on October 28, paving on October 29 and overnight adjustments to utility structures and striping. Substantial completion is expected by October 30, with final punch list items wrapped up by November 7. Copper State will post sandwich boards and 24-hour advance warning signs at each phase of work. In addition, updates and reminders will be communicated to residents through This Week in SCOV, and detailed information will be available on the SCOV website’s Project page. These channels will help ensure everyone stays informed and prepared. The SCOV Posse will assist with parked car monitoring and relocation if needed, and residential garbage and recycling collection on Mondays will continue without disruption. No weekend work is planned unless required to maintain the schedule. The Federal Communications Commission will also oversee geotechnical testing, change orders, and invoicing to ensure a smooth and successful project.

Staying Hydrated Tidbits

Don’t get thirsty. Drink at least eight (8 oz) glasses of water a day. On hot days or heavy exertion days, increase that amount. Listen to your body. If you feel you need moredrink more. Eat your water. Many fruits are a great source of both electrolytes and fluids. Cucumbers, oranges and watermelon are great options. Beware of alcohol. Alcoholic beverages can lead to additional fluid losses; for every alcoholic drink, have one non-alcoholic drink. Coconut water is low in calories and contains a host of vitamins and minerals; it contains essential electrolytes to help replenish your body. Special Note from the Aquatics and Fitness Center (AFC): Orientation on how to use the gym equipment is held every Thursday, 1 pm. Stop in and sign up. Classes are limited. Meetings Second and Fourth Tues., 2 pm

The Master Declaration, Tract Declarations and Development Standards 2.18.C.4 provide pretty clear directions for managing greenery within one’s yard. Besides weed control, we have a duty to be neighborly and promote safety. For example, within the front yard setback, 3’6” is the maximum height of any bush/hedge. This keeps visibility between drivers and walkers within a measure of safety. For side and backyards, the maximum height is 6’. This height keeps plants under control and mitigates scenery visibility impairments for one’s neighbors. For some, managing neighbor visibility is even more critical. For example, in Unit 15 (Cirrus Hill Dr., Tumble Brook, Meteorite Trail and half of Trade Winds Way) there is a maximum 3’ height for shrubbery that is within 15’ of the back yard property line. This summer was another growth year for our greenery. Please take the time to enjoy that growth while also showing neighborly consideration.

How can I get notifications of emergency situations including wildfires and flash floods? First, when the National Weather Service issues certain weather warnings, cell towers will broadcast the alert to all connected cell users. Other applications for your phone are Weatherbug provides additional weather alerts including flash flood and lightning warnings. Watchduty provides alerts for nearby wildfires. You can also set other locations if you want to keep track of the area near a second home or vacation home. CodeRedMobile is used by the Town of Oro Valley to send notices to town residents. If the affected area is smaller than the town, they can geofence the alerts so they send a notice to only the affected area.

Lion Head Fountain Task Force

Chair Trish Jensen

The Lion Head Fountain task force has been busy. After updating the Board, we have confirmation to proceed with the text amendment from the Town.

Nineteen open task force meetings were held, inviting Homeowners to voice concerns and discuss the fountain. Signatures and opinions were collected, and in summary, 92% of participants expressed support for the fountain. Participation was open to all, and many expressed the enjoyment of water and a desire for the fountain to be a focal point for an outdoor use area. The 8% that opposed the fountain primarily felt it was a waste of water.

The Town estimates the text amendment to be a maximum expense of $5,900, to cover application fees and mailings. This is a necessary expense to correct our forfeited code status on the fountain.

The Fountain was found to have surface cracks, popped tiles, missing parts and deterioration from sitting empty. A redesign of the fountain was created that uses approximately 50% less water with improvements in maintenance requirements and efficiency. The repairs and reconstruction of the fountain are estimated at $79,067.

In addition, an optional rainwater harvesting system was designed to use rainwater to supplement the fountain. Rainwater would be collected and stored in a fully sealed tank system. For reference, approximately 2” of rainwater would fill a proposed 2,560-gallon reservoir tank. This proactive option is estimated at $11,705.

The surrounding plaza was also found to be in disrepair, including concrete heaving, damage from tree roots and deteriorating garden tier walls. The proximity and condition of the plaza will clearly affect any repairs to the fountain,

and must therefore be considered. Expenses for immediate plaza repairs near the fountain are estimated at $12,000. Though not in the scope of the task force, this is a necessary expense to correct the continuation of damage and address immediate serious personal safety risks in the plaza.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in this process. Your input helped to put forth a better solution. We will provide further information regarding the Town meetings, once available. For more task force details, please visit our committee page on the SCOV website and see page 33 for photos.

October is a busy month as the snowbirds are returning. Reservations may be made two months in advance, so it may be time to start thinking about the holidays. Do you need to borrow chairs or tables for Halloween or Thanksgiving? Will you need beds, strollers or toys for little family visitors? Remember, popular items such as tables, chairs and beds run out quickly around the holidays. Borrowing periods vary by item type: medical equipment available for upcoming surgeries and illnesses may be borrowed for up to two months, while other items are available for up to two weeks. Please clean all borrowed items before returning them. Recycle your aluminum cans in the blue bins in our area. We look forward to helping you.

New Homeowner, or Just Back?

If you've been away for some time, you may have noticed that your yard has become overrun with foliage and weeds. Be sure to tackle those pesky weeds sprouting in the cracks of your driveway, sidewalk and where the cement meets the street. Additionally, any plants that extend over the sidewalks should be trimmed back to ensure the safety of pedestrians. Don't forget to remove any suckers growing beneath your trees, cutting them down to the ground. If you've applied pre-emergent treatments to your yard, you can expect fewer weeds next year; consult your landscaper or pest control expert for guidance. Take a moment to assess your house number from the street—can it be seen clearly both day and night? For safety reasons, ensure that any obstructing plants are trimmed and that light bulbs are functioning, as this visibility is crucial for emergency responders. With the arrival of cooler weather, check your mailbox, flag and post for any paint touch-ups needed. If you're unable to handle the task yourself, visit the Consumer Referral Vendor List on our SCOV website to find a professional who can assist you for a reasonable fee. Welcome back, and continue to take pride in maintaining the beautiful appearance of our SCOV.

We always encourage residents to submit photos whether they are club photos or photos for possible use on the cover or for the "Resident-submitted photos" page. Photos may be submitted through the Tipster portal on the SCOV website. Besides club photos, we are looking for photos of nature and landscapes around Sun City and photos of residents enjoying SCOV activities.

Be sure your photo is in focus. We do not fix blurry photos. If you do not see your proposed cover or photo page photo in print right after you submit it, be aware that the photos are kept on file and may be used in a later edition.

Photos should be a minimum file size of 300KB or larger, up to 5 MB. Acceptable formats are jpg, png and tif. Photos taken with a cell phone should be downloaded and sent as "large" or "actual" size.

For submitters with more sophisticated skills, the maximum resolution is 300 DPI, and the color printing model is CMYK. Large files like TIF files can be emailed to Lisa Orach with a link to a cloud-based file storage site such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive. Her email is lorach@suncityorovalley.com.

Course Maintenance: The golf course will be closed for overseeding through Sunday, October 5. The driving range remains open during overseeding; however, we will hit on mats only. This gives the ryegrass ample time to grow properly. Avoid hitting off the grass during this closure. For the best winter results, it's crucial to allow the overseed to germinate undisturbed. A daily watering schedule for the driving range tee will be displayed for your information.

Reopening & Guidelines: Golf play resumes on Monday, October 6. From October 6 to October 20, the course will be cart path only.

Fall Rates (Starting October 6): Guests playing with a member or resident enjoy the resident guest’s daily rate. The guest rate includes the resident rate plus an additional $10 for 18 holes or $5 for 9 holes. For members or residents using a club cart in the fall, winter or spring. There’s a cart fee of $15 pp for 18 holes and $10 pp for 9 holes.

For tee-time bookings or any questions, feel contact the Pro Shop. We're here to assist you.

Director of Golf Maintenance - Michael Kropf mkropf@suncityorovalley.com 520-917-8063

October is always the start of a new season of golf at the Views Golf Club. The golf course has been overseeded, so there are different colors of green grass on the fairways and tees. This is a good time to remind golfers about changes from summer to winter play. The divot mix in the containers will be replaced with a sand and seed mix that is used only on fairways and tees that have been overseeded. If that seed mix is placed in turf areas that are not overseeded, it will eventually leave large green patches in the otherwise brown turf. This applies to all of the roughs and certain tee boxes that haven’t been overseeded. It is a small step to help reduce the extra maintenance required to chemically treat and remove the green spots throughout the winter months. From a maintenance standpoint, it would be better to do nothing to a divot in non-overseeded turf than put seed mix in it. When the golf course reopens following overseed, there will be two weeks of cart path restrictions due to the young ryegrass and wet conditions. Once the cart path restriction is lifted, the areas on holes number 2, 4, 9 and 14 that have been staked from cart path traffic the previous few years will be restricted again. Since implementing these golf cart traffic controls, the turf conditions in these specific areas have dramatically improved, resulting in little to no damage the following summer.

October is here. Let the games begin. Now is the time to join the league and get out there and meet new friends, improve your game and get some outdoor exercise. The club tees off on Thursday mornings with a shotgun start. We play a variety of game formats that provide an opportunity for all members to win. It’s fun, even if it is golf we’re talking about.

The other nice part of playing with the Nine-Hole club is that it will not tie up your entire day. Two or two and a half hours, and you are done chasing that little ball, and then you can get on to doing other things. It is easy, and you can join online. When joining, I always encourage everyone to pay the $10 Hole-in-One insurance. You just never know. We have three winners this year and will pay them at our first club meeting in November. We will also introduce a new Chip In pot, which offers another chance to be a winner.

Come join us. Half the time, twice the fun.

In an increasingly digital world printing photographs remains a meaningful way to preserve memories and give them lasting value. Unlike digital files that can be lost, corrupted or forgotten on hard drives, printed photos serve as tangible keepsakes that can be displayed, shared and passed

down through generations. They offer a sense of permanence and emotional connection, turning fleeting moments into cherished heirlooms. Printing also encourages more thoughtful photography, prompting us to curate our best work rather than letting it disappear into endless photo streams. In print, photos become part of our physical space, adding warmth, nostalgia, and personal history to our lives. You are invited to attend our meeting Wednesday, October 8, 6 pm, CV to hear local photographer, Steve Dell and see how he creates memorable prints that become valued keepsakes.

Our sculpture pieces are in the glass case and Art studio window inside Catalina Vista, a showcase outside of the library and inside the library.

The picture is of three projects that are currently in process. The picture on the left is a project being completed by Gayle Franklin. Gayle baked this sculpture right after this picture was taken and plans to add to the sculpture after it’s baked. The middle picture is on an armature that Dale Foster is working on. Can you guess what this is going to be? If you guessed three dancing sheep, you are correct. The third picture is a project that Christine Takerian is creating. The picture is her inspiration for her sculpture.

Senior for Kids (SFK) gives a heartfelt thank you to all who donated to this summer’s Sweats and Socks drive during July. We collected over 2100 articles of clothing: sweatpants and sweatshirts, long legged pants, long sleeved shirts, 1750 pairs of socks, underwear, shoes, and short sleeve shirts. The collection was broken down into three groups and delivered to Three Points, Mammoth and Sells (Sunrise House). Those communities have many families living under the poverty level, and this clothing drive helped to give kids new clothes to start the school year off. We are so blessed that we live in a community that is so giving and steps up to help others in need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Looking for a tu tu? We have some for you yes, you.

One of the pleasant things about going into Casa Amigas sessions on Monday or Thursday mornings is the time spent listening to the expert sewers share what they are working on or creating. Not just in sewing, but other groups they participate in as well.

In August, a generous neighbor shared 5 bolts of tulle fabric. If you are unfamiliar with tulle, think tutu’s. That’s the idea that came to one Casa member who shared her steps with a few others. After sewing the main skirt, little bows or ribbons are added for decoration. We now have a total of 12 completed items that will be available at the fall craft fair. Other items available will include blankets, sleep sacks for infants, embroidered flip-flop coin purses, and more.

Watch for the date of the craft fair in the upcoming Tipster or This week in SCOV.

Tapestry Hooking and Fiber Arts

Carrie Wiley 360-734-5952 ecwiley@gmail.com Tue., 9-11 am, ART/Sewing www.scovhookers.weebly.com

The Tapestry Hooking and Fiber Arts group meet Tuesday mornings in the Sewing Room. If you are interested, stop by the Sewing Room between 9-11 am. Our group provides materials and instruction for those interested in learning to hook. We welcome people interested in any fiber-related artwork.

The picture of Carrie Wiley’s Halloween themed project seemed fitting for this month’s article. Carrie dyes her own wool to achieve the colors that she desires for her projects. She is good at blending colors as you can see in this example. It is not unusual for Carrie to be working on a project, not like the blending of a color, which she will pull out and replace it with a different color. If you are interested in learning more about dying wool for hooking, Carrie is the person to ask.

Stained glass art is the term given to art created by cutting out pieces from stained glass sheets, and soldering them together using either lead came or copper foil. Stained glass art can be fashioned in many sizes and designs, ranging from the smallest suncatchers to large windows.

Fused glass art refers to pieces of glass that are melted, or fused together in a glass kiln. Glass fusing can create jewelry, ornaments, dishes, bowls and glass paintings. Visit our studio located in the SCOV Artisan Center, or visit the Gift Shop or the Activity Center to view some of the wonderful stained and fused glass creations made by our talented members.

Bill is a seasoned woodworker who is very adept at designing and creating unique and artistic wood creations. Pictured is Bill’s latest chess set design. The chess board and pieces are made from two woods, purpleheart and canary wood, with the base frame made from mahogany. The base is designed to conveniently allow for storing the pieces. Bill is also a strong contributor to the SCOV Seniors for Kids program. Thank you for your contributions and for sharing, Bill.

Poets Corner

Sharyn Rafieyan, 520-825-6762, srafieyan@comcast.net, 1281 E. Clearwind Pl., Monday, 10 am - 12 noon, Zoom

With not a bit of boastfulness, Poet’s Corner member John Padgett, modestly belies his talent in this seemingly simple poem that allows us to imagine a bedroom scene by describing what’s missing rather than what’s really there before providing a delightful depiction of what the inhabitant doesn’t do before concluding with an achievement worthy of applause.

Too Early

I woke up too early, too early to begin work and there’s no fiction to take me away. There’s no easel set up to paint, only pencil and paper.

And so, instead of flopping in bed like wind on an abandoned grocery sack, I write contrived poetry, poorly armed with talent or inspiration.

Conscious Aging

Pres. Phyllis Burks 520-245-2785

SCOVConsciousAging@gmail.com Wed., 9-10:30 am, AC/Navajo

Conscious aging is about the inner work of reorienting ourselves as we turn from our roles we assumed while managing careers and tending families, to turning inward and cultivating a deeper awareness of who we are now. Our goal is to discover how to face the known and unknown challenges of aging. With the help of our community, we are pondering the questions: Who am I? What are my values? What do I believe? What matters most to me?

This inner work is supported by mindful movement such as qigong, guided meditation and book study that draws from psychology, sociology, metaphysics, philosophy and meditation. Conscious aging is about accepting who we are now. Our meetings consist of a short period of easy mindful movement, followed by guided meditation and discussion. Please contact Phyllis for information or email the club.

This Fall Get Ready to Move

Sally, our energetic and inspiring instructor, is bringing fresh, fun, and challenging ways to help you build stronger muscles and bones. We're excited to introduce two new classes: Cardio Blast and Cardio Strength. Don’t they sound like a blast?

These workouts combine weights and cardio to boost not just your physical health, but your brainpower too. Research shows that this kind of exercise improves how we feel, how we move, and how we think. Plus, it’s a powerful way to keep bones strong and reduce the risk of falls.

Balance is a key part of every class, and Sally always encourages everyone to work at their own pace and comfort level. Whether you're just starting or looking to push yourself a little further, there's a place for you here.

Membership is $3 in cash in an envelope. Class cards are 12 classes for $30.

The Fall Tai Chi session begins October 2. This is a 10-week course that meets weekly Thursday mornings. It is led by Sensei Donna Drazenovich, second degree black belt in karate, and Assistant Instructor Kyt-Tee Kohout. Each 90-minute class begins with 30 minutes of Qigong followed by 60 minutes of Tai Chi instruction. Instruction for beginners is

given separately from more experienced students. You may observe the first class before committing to the full course.

Tai Chi is an internal martial art. After you learn the basic Yang Tai Chi form, you may want to learn Tai Chi Fan or Tai Chi Saber. The Tai Chi Fan form appears to be a graceful dance; actually, it is one of the most beautiful self defense forms.

Practice sessions are offered year-round to support our club members. For more information, email SCOVTaiChi@ gmail.com or contact Gail at 303-995-7485

Birders

Peggy Smith 520-400-8659 pdsaz@aol.com www.scovbirding.wixsite.com/birdersgroup

The Phainopepla, with its red eye and crest, is very common here in SCOV (male shown) and anywhere there is desert mistletoe, as it eats both the berries and insects that hang out there. It is a member of the Silky Flycatcher family, which is a very small family of only four species worldwide. Residing along the Mexican border states, it is the only member of that family here in the USA.

Since there are over 400 species of flycatchers in the world, this family is pretty special.

Download the Merlin birding app on your phone and have it listen to the birds in your backyard while you have your morning coffee on the patio. You will be awed by what is out there. Contact Peggy to be added to the club roster and to get a list of our outings. Membership is free.

While the club schedule is listed in the Tipster, we are often asked: how does it work? Club players generally play for the first 60-90 minutes of any day listed. If you are not a club member you can come during that time and observe and will often be invited to play, if it is not too crowded. You have an opportunity to be coached if you wish and, if a club player, it is free. If you are not a club member but have a partner to play with, come after the first 60-90 minutes and have fun. There are a lot of advantages to being a club member ($5 pp per year), so we are sure you will want to join at some point. Join us in the comfortable air-conditioned environment of Catalina Vista.
