Divots FEBRUARY 2020 From the Pro Shop
We are off to a great 2020! It was a banner year in 2019 for The Views and we want to thank you all our members, residents and guest for your support. We look forward to serving you all through 2020 and provide the professional friendly service, excellent conditions and a memorable golfing experience you have come to expect. After a long run we are changing the monthly newsletter. The new name moving forward will be called Tee to Green. We are proud of the day to day conditions and want the newsletter name to reflect that. We hope you will enjoy the new newsletter and look forward to communicating to you all the happenings here at The Views Golf Club. Speaking of new, the Pro Shop now carries Medterra Brand CBD. Many PGA golfers such as Bubba Watson and Charley Hoffman use CBD to help them focus and have energy all through their rounds. For more info check with the staff in the pro shop. Great shots @ The Views Congratulations to Ted Sorich on not only shooting his age but beating his age by 5 shots! Ted shot an eighteen-hole total of 6 over par 78! You can do the math to find his age! You inspire us, Ted! Our twelfth hole is arguably our hardest par 3. Tim Kelley may no longer think so. Tim aced number 12 from 166 yards with a 3 wood. Rumor has it the shot was hit directly into a 40-mph wind. Either way it was a great shot and one that Tim will always remember. Way to go Tim!
Talking about making an ACE. Robert Taylor holed out a Pitching Wedge on hole #3 from 125 on January 31. Results On January 11-12 the Views Golf Club hosted the Oro Valley Senior Championship. In the Championship Division Defending champion Jon Lindstrom from Broomfield, CO repeated as champion with a 36-hole score of 5 under par 139. Richard Bradsby finished 2nd at 145, Tim Freeh was 3rd at 152. In the White/Gold Division Jay Anderson from Helena, MT captured 1st place with a 7 over par 151 for 36 holes followed closely by Tim Blau, Lance DeNardin and Robin McCool at 152. In the Gold Division Trent Olney captured the Gross Division with a 36-hole total of 157 while the Net Division went to The Views own Chris Puffer at 157. As one can see this tournament draws players from all over the USA. January 18th, we held our annual Welcome Back Demo Day & Helicopter Ball Drop extravaganza. Charley Young & Katelyn Hutchison dropped over 600 golf balls from a helicopter hovering hundreds of feet in the air over a target on the driving range. The three closest golf balls were in third place Pam Shanahan $300 dollars, Mike Friend second place $700 and Margot Chatterton in first place (14inches) $1,200. This popular event helped raise money for all the Women’s and Men’s clubs’ associations. Thank you all for your support of this event and Welcome Back!
