☩ The Special Box ☩
☩ The Special Box 2019 ☩ The Special Box is an effort shared between the Guild of Saint Catherine (Ferrara, Italy) The Tipi Loschi of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati (San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy), and certain artisans from the Holy Land. The Box contains beautiful, handmade objects from Italy and the Holy Land, and this year is the first year that it is available for purchase in the United States. The Contents of The Special Box 2019 ☩ apron with the phrase "Ut Laetificet Cor" ("That the heart may be made glad") ☩ Bottle opener with the phrase "Verso l'alto" ("to the Heights") ☩ Handmade ornament from the holy Land ☩ Holy card of Bl. Pier Giorgio
☊ the Special Box 2019 ☊ The Special Box serves as a simple, distributist way of supporting artisans in the Holy Land and in Italy, combining quality products with simple beauty. the Special Box seeks to do more than simply financially support the Holy Land; it is an invitation to the recipient to create a holy space in their own home. The apron represents the work and service that must be done in order to care for a holy place; the bottle opener is a sign of cheer and hospitality, and the ornament is a reminder of the importance of beauty in everyday life. It is our hope that with the Special Box will come the understanding of the importance of creating a Holy Land in every home, and of the possibility of living every day in the presence of Christ. ☊
☩ The Manalive Mission ☩ In 2014 a group of students from the Scuola Chesterton in Italy visited Minneapolis, creating a bond between the two cities and encouraging the establishment of a sister community in the United States. Now the community in Minneapolis is growing and thriving, and young people from both communities seek the opportunity to travel across the ocean and visit their friends in Christ. The community of the Tipi Loschi seeks to serve Christ joyfully and continuously, creating friendships based in service and prayer. Since that first visit many young people have made the journey between Minneapolis and San Benedetto del Tronto, with the hope to continue building friendships and to further develop these sister communities. This has come to be called the Manalive Mission, and is an effort that bears much fruit for the Tipi Loschi, especially for the young people who are able to participate. The proceeds of the Special Boxes go towards future Manalive Missions – for plane tickets, accommodations, and other expenses. ☩
