Leading the Way in Academic Excellence

Southern is at the forefront of innovation, offering programs in high-impact, trending fields. Our facilities and industry partnerships prepare students with realworld skills and experiences in emerging technologies. Southern has officially joined an elite group of research-driven institutions nationwide, earning the Carnegie R2 Classification for high research spending and doctorate production. Southern is the second-highest producer of Fulbright U.S. Scholars in the state of Connecticut, and one of just 46 institutions to receive this honor. The Fulbright Program is one of the world’s most prestigious international exchange programs.

At Southern, students have the opportunity to achieve their highest potential.

With more than 225 majors, minors, and preprofessional programs from which to choose, students can find their passion and build a strong academic foundation. Our faculty are known for their accessibility and personalized attention.
