Columbia Restaurant Hall of Fame Inductees!
The Greater Columbia Chapter of the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association will be hosting its annual Columbia Restaurant Hall of Fame and Benefit Dinner on Monday, November 25 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
Three exceptional individuals will be inducted into the 2024 Columbia Restaurant Hall of Fame and two will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. This accolade stands as a high honor in South Carolina’s restaurant industry, an annual tribute reserved for the visionary restaurateurs of the Columbia area who embody long-term success in this continuously challenging and unique business. Columbia’s culinary culture is dynamic, and the city boasts an eclectic mix of old-school favorites, international cuisine, and innovative newcomers.
The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. where some of our ProStart schools will be serving tasty hors d’oeuvres. At 7:00, we will enjoy a fabulous three-course dinner and begin our awards ceremony. Don’t forget to buy a raffle ticket! Proceeds of the raffle go to our South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Foundation, which provides scholarships for culinary students in the state.

Thank You to Everyone Who Played in Our Annual Hospitality Leaders Golf Tournament!
We had a great time on the 21st during our Annual Hospitality Leaders Golf Tournament! This was a fantastic opportunity to raise money for the South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Foundation and add funds to scholarships for culinary students in the state.
We had 15 teams in attendance this year and raised over $500 for our Hubitality fund, which provides emergency assistance to restaurant in Spartanburg. Our presenting sponsor, US Foods provided gift bags for each team and made the tournament a day to remember!
The event began at 9:00 a.m. with a variety of games, including putting croquet and chipping practice. Each player recevied a custom SCRLA lunchbox filled with IMIC tees, Grill Marks golfballs, and USC Hospitality, Retail, & Sports Management golf towels.
At 11:00 a.m. the golf tournament began! Players were eagerly lined up in their golf carts to begin competing. On hole 13 we held a “Closest to the Pin” contest, which was won by Lea Coleman. On hole 7, each player competed for the “Longest Drive” trophy which went to Brooks Moody.
A wonderful lunch was provided by FirehouseSubs during the tournament and a buffet was held after the game inside the Timberlake Country Club.

Sliders and a seafood boil had each golfer full and ready for the following awards ceremony! We celebrated the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams, the Closest to the Pin winner and the Longest Drive winner.
Congratulations to our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners! Each group performed excellently and received their trophies and a $50 Visa gift card.
Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s tournament. We hope you had a wonderful day of games, competition, and conversation and to see everyone next year at Bull’s Bay in Charleston!
