As we journey through the corners of Ferentino Street, we stop at every home, playground, and association to shout a heartfelt thank you for an exceptional year.
We extend our appreciation to everyone who supported this year’s annual Authors’ Retreat—from the host pastor of Salvation Gate Ministry to the smallest member and attendant.
It was a choo-choo ride throughout June, from the 16th to the 22nd, at the house of Salvation Gate Ministry. Children came out in numbers to learn about the Gospel of Christ. Authors and speakers from other nations shared their knowledge and grace at the Mentorship Conference. Jesus Seekers came, dressed the part, and danced the night away at the grand finale, the Gospel Concert.
As we ride the train of Glory, many lives were saved, blessed, and even specially awarded for their labour.

The Annual Authors’ Retreat
In 2021, the Annual Authors’ Retreat started out as a little virtual workshop for new authors. Authors from all over the world would participate by training passionate youths and adults on becoming authors. Then last year, we had the honour of turning this online vision into reality by hosting our first Authors’ Retreat in Isernia, Molise. We welcomed over 13 authors from the USA. From this five-day event, a children’s book was created by Author and Educator Dr. Dawn Menge from California, bearing remarkable testimonies of the entire retreat.

engaging activities, and meaningful lessons. Each day was filled with adventure and discovery, bringing the power of Jesus to life in vibrant and memorable ways. Join us as we look back on this unforgettable week, celebrating the strength, hope, boldness, eternal life, and friendship that Jesus provides.

Day 1: Ramsey the Goat
Bible Point: Jesus’ power helps us do hard things.
Bible Story: Ananias helps Saul (Acts 9:1-19)
Bible Verse: “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
Activity - Bible Adventures:
Participants stepped into Ananias’ shoes and faced the challenge of doing something hard as he did when God asked him to help Saul. Through a trust fall exercise, children learned the importance of trusting Jesus to help them accomplish difficult tasks.
Day 2: Ava the Eagle
Bible Point: Jesus’ power gives us hope.
Bible Story: Paul encourages others in a storm and shipwreck (Acts 27)
Bible Verse: “So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!” (Psalm 31:24)
Activity - Bible Adventures:
Children joined Paul’s crew on a turbulent sea voyage, experiencing the storm and shipwreck that Paul endured. This immersive activity highlighted how Paul’s faith and encouragement gave hope to others during a perilous situation. Kids learned to put their hope in Jesus, who provides strength and courage through life’s storms.
Day 3: Sierra the Lion
Bible Point: Jesus’ power helps us be bold.
Bible Story: Peter and John teach about Jesus (Acts 3:1–4:31)
Bible Verse: “He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.” (Isaiah 40:29)
Activity - Bible Adventures:
In this session, children celebrated with a healed man and discovered how Peter and John boldly shared the message of Jesus, even when faced with imprisonment. Through role-playing and storytelling, kids learned about the boldness that comes from Jesus’ power, encouraging them to share their faith confidently.
Day 4: Finn the Fish
Bible Point: Jesus’ power lets us live forever.
Bible Story: Jesus’ death and resurrection (Matthew 26:17–28:10)
Bible Verse: “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.” (Romans 8:11)
Activity - Bible Adventures:
Using Velcro and hearts, children explored the concept of eternal friendship with God. They also experienced an activity that symbolized Jesus’ sacrificial love and forgiveness. This day’s lesson emphasized the everlasting life and relationship with Jesus, made possible through His resurrection.
Day 5: Lawrence Elk the Deer
Bible Point: Jesus’ power helps us be good friends.
Bible Story: The church is united (Acts 2:42-47; 4:32-35)
Bible Verse: “Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” (John 15:12)
Activity - Bible Adventures: The final day featured a search for “review clues” and a celebration of friendship. Children acted out the ways early Christians demonstrated friendship and unity. This activity highlighted the importance of community and how Jesus’ power helps us to be good friends, fostering a spirit of love and support among peers.

Highlights from the Annual Authors' Retreat 2024
The Annual Authors' Retreat 2024, Mentorship Conference hosted by Script of Virtue Collections and Salvation Gate Ministry, focused on the theme "Building Godly Leaders for Tomorrow." This year’s retreat brought together distinguished speakers, enthusiastic participants, and vibrant discussions, all rooted in the guiding Scripture, But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” (St. Matt. 19:14).

The conference officially opened with a project introduction and a highlighting of sponsors by Tracey Nosakhare. Her presentation acknowledged the invaluable support of sponsors and set the stage for the enlightening sessions to follow.
The keynote addresses began with Pastor Geani Daragiu’s exploration of discipleship, followed by Minister Nadine Edwards’ focus on youth leadership, Minister Teopista Mutesi’s insights on marriage and relationships, and Tracey Nosakhare’s guidance on writing and self-publishing. Each speaker brought a unique perspective, enriching the retreat’s overarching theme of building godly leaders.

As the sunset painted the sky with hues of gold and crimson, the week gracefully ushered in the conclusion of another spectacular chapter. The Gospel Concert told this story through vibrant praise and worship with Thanksgiving.

The Salvation Gate Ministry Gospel Choir delivered powerful and uplifting renditions, while Poland's finest saxophonist captivated the audience with his exquisite sound. The renowned Orchestra Band of Lazio brought a symphonic elegance to the event, and the unique tones of the Koinonia Gospel Choir resonated with heartfelt harmony. FINGERLICKING AFRICAN CUISINE
The 2024 Gospel Concert will be remembered as a night when lives were touched, spirits were lifted, and a community came together in joy and thanksgiving.
Attendees were treated to a feast of finger-licking African cuisines, delighting their palates and adding a culinary flair to the evening. It was a night filled with fun, food, and festivity, making it a memorable experience for everyone present. It was magnificent under the open sky. The concert took place under the open sky at the Salvation Gate Ministry's parking lot, where the harmonious melodies seemed to lift the roof. The evening of June 22 was more than just a musical event; it was a rejuvenating experience that uplifted and encouraged all who attended.

There are a few writing and self-publishing tips that an aspiring author will need. These do not require getting a degree, having a lot of experience, or being an expert. All one needs are the words on paper.
Establish a writing space. Always have a spot that you will find comfortable enough to do all your work. E.g., a room, a garden, an office etc. Ensure that this space as all your convenience; table, chair, cushion, blanket, drink, snack, dictionary etc.
Fiction or Non-Fiction
Before designing to write anything, you must first choose which category of book to write, Fiction or Non-Fiction. “Fiction” refers to literature created from the imagination. Mysteries, science fiction, romance, fantasy, chick lit, crime thrillers are all fiction genres.
Fiction books are books that gives true information. E.g. Inspirational, Autobiography, Educational, Business, Cooking, health and fitness, History, Selfhelp etc.
Plot
Your book must have a location and language.
Main Characters
Your book must always have a main character. Some persons use their main character in the title. It must has a name, gender and physical appearance.
Moral of the Story
What will your reader achieve at the end of the story or during?
Your moral is the main idea or lesson that will be learnt from the story.

Eg. Scrivener, Watpad, Amazon Kindle Singles.
Write Short for Start
Start by writing short stories, poems, paragraphs first. This helps you to develop your writing skills before you can be an expert.
Keep a Journal
Every Writer/Author needs a journal. It is their little book that keeps all their ideas. It also helps to express emotions, motivate skills, and your stress level. Your journal is the first place to put your thoughts, before putting it on a site or
into a book.
Take Breaks
Don’t jump from chapter to chapter everyday. Take a break. Give your self a week or two to think about new ideas.
Rid Distraction
When writing do nothing else, but writing. Rid yourself from all distractions in order to remain focus. E.g., texting, TV, Social Media etc. Turn all notifications off.
Start a Blog
It is good to have a personal blog where persons can see your talent. It also helps you to express new ideas and gain followers. Having a blog is a good way to start a network and become confident. Eg. Facebook, Google Blogger, Tumblr, WordPress etc.
Write Where People are Writing
It is good to go to places sometimes where people are writing.
Get Your Inspiration
Have something that inspires you before working. This can be an activity, a teaching, or an hobby. Your inspiration is your engine.
Edit Later
When writing your book or article, leave the editing for later. Be free to ask for assistance towards proofreading as well. It is mandatory to have a second or third pair of eyes when book is finish.
If you are looking for the simplest solution, just published your book with kindle direct publishing. Kindle direct publishing is an author platform that lets you upload your book and list it for free. The reader can then buy the eBook or have a print version created for them at the click of a mouse. You can register a copyright for your book by submitting your registration electronically, or by mailing in a print application.
