In 2014 during the halls of Bible School in Jamaica, I experienced one of the most tragic shortcomings in my life; mental depression. I was in the middle of a gas stationwhenaheavyweightfellonme Igot scared,alone,andhelpless Inthemidstofit, theonlypersonIcouldtakemyphonetocall was my pastor at the time. She drove to whereIwasandtookmetoherhouse. After visiting the mental hospital, they diagnosed me with Bipolar I was told that this was a family inherited disease, and I would never get better again. After a few months, I came back to normal, what the doctors predicted was not final 4 years passed and I decided to reapply to Bible School and re-continue my studies. Happily, acceptance was easy, because I was already a current student in the school system

During my stay, I rented an apartment insteadoflivingonthecampus.Acookfrom theschoolrestauranttookmeinandhosted me She was also a passed student of the Theological Seminary and had two children One was an aspiring doctor in Russia, and theotherwasalawyerstudentinJamaica. With warm arms they all welcomed me into their home I was very excited to see that God allowed me to be among persons who shared the same faith and accomplishments towards the things of God

WhenIarrivedatthehouse,IwastoldthatI hadtopaythefullrentalfeeswhichcovered living and food. It was really expensive yet stillIagreedtodosowithmymother’shelp.I hadtosharemybedwithanotherteenager, who was also renting at the time It was a smallroom,butIsurvived.

One evening I felt a fear came over me, so I decidedtowalktomyschoolwhereotherstudents were. I sat in a class that I was scheduled for and the lecturer's teaching. I only felt more fear and anxiety, so I left the room Immediately, I became someone else My actions changed, and the last thing I remembered was that two lecturers were putting me in a car. They took me to the house where I was staying. From that moment on I was treated differently The people who acted as my Good Samaritans, started to ill-treated me, they fed me with sweet syrup, stuck faeces in my mouth, and abused me with beats and anguish. I was threatened for months. According to them, I was just a crazy stranger who came to take over theirhome

During all of this, I was mocked, rejected, abused and even disvalued. That university student was now a useless, mental case, that was waiting to die My close friends told me they thought that I wassomewherelockedupwithsomeguy,ordoing something irrelevant. I was misjudged by church peopleandmisunderstood.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR HAND?

WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR HAND? SO THE LORD SAID TO HIM, "WHAT IS THAT IN YOUR HAND?" HE SAID, "A ROD."EXODUS 4:2

According to McClintock and Strong Biblical Cyclopedia, the word ‘rod’ in the passage signifies a wand or walking staff: as Moses’ rod (Ex 4:2,4). The rods of Moses and Aaron were the visible means chosen by the Almighty for the instrument of his wonders in Egypt, at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness. The rod of Moses is sometimes called ‘the rod of God’ (Ex 4:20).

Here Moses had a wand in his hand, to do wonders for God but yet he could not see it. Are we overlooking our weapons around us and pin pointing our fingers on the less relevant things?

Instead of strengthening our weapon and or putting it to use, are we thinking about other things that are actually less helpful in our lives?

You might have something in your hand that you do not pay much attention to, but yet, it is probably your next escape. It is probably a gift, a talent, a business, or a simple voice. What do you have in your hand?

Have you ever thought about putting that thing to use?

Have you ever stopped to think about what’s inside, instead of the negative voices outside? Who is discouraging you? Who is saying you are not good enough? How is lying to you?

Moses was favoured by God, called by God, and chosen, but he could not see this call. He believed that he needed the recognition of others to answer this call

He thought that only their approval was good enough to go to the next level. But God had him to see the significance of that which was already in his hand, his ‘Authority’.

A man ’ s authority is given to silence his enemies

His authority is there to strengthen his confidence

It is there to grant his honour in society, but most importantly, his authority is given to highlight God’s glory in the Earth. Just so that man may understand that there is a greater power. What do you have in your hand?

Moses’ weakness was not his stammering as they declared in the Bible, his weakness was his low self-esteem. Do not use what man is saying to slow you down. Neither use yourself to hinder your call. For many are called, but few are chosen. If you want to win this race, you have to start moving. Your destiny is relying on it. Your family is relying on it Nations are relying on it

Stop looking out and expecting results, instead look inside and tap into the gifts and glory that God created in you. God made you; it is impossible to look like someone else, God’s character is within you, it is impossible to sound like something else. Your rod, is your authority.

In order to destroy self-defeating issues, we must first acknowledge the importance of our weapon around us.

4thofJuly Seminar & Workshop

The Annual Authors Retreat featured some of the most inspiring and knowledgeable speakers in the industry Attendees had the opportunity to hear from experts in writing, publishing, and marketing, as well as successful authors who shared their insights and experiences. The speakers' sessions were designed to inspire, educate, and motivate attendees to take their writing to the next level

The Seminar and Workshop was a fun-packed event that brought together writers, readers, and book lovers from all over the country. The all-day event was filled with informative sessions, lively discussions, and plenty of opportunities for attendees to interact with authors and ask questions

From the moment the doors opened, attendees were treated to a range of interaction.

As early as 10:00am the activities began Activities included panel discussions, book signings, meet-and-greets with authors, and a edifying workshop on self-publishing training and Storytelling. The authors in attendance were friendly and approachable, and attendees had the opportunity to chat with them and learn from their experiences In addition to the workshops, the panel discussion also featured a lively Q&A session, where attendees were put on the spot to ask their insights and voice their opinions on the state of the writing industry The discussions ended with goodies and giveaways.

The highlight of the seminar was a live performance by Happy Eborka.

The intermission was wrapped with dancing and singing from Happy Eborka. Happy is a talented Molise Gospel Artiste who have writtten a few gospel hits in Italy His performance was energetic and inspiring, leaving each person with a personal encounter to the Gospel of Christ and filled with inspiration and motivation to the next half of the day.

The organizers made sure that the event was inclusive and welcoming.

Even though the seminar fell on America's Independence Day, July 4th, everyone had a chance to share the workload. The organizers made sure that the event was inclusive and welcoming, so that the attendees from America would feel comfortable and at home

The Seminar segment had an empowerment hour with Keynote Speaker and US Veteran Michael W. Allison, and Retreat Director Tracey Nosakhare. Both shared their testimonies and journey as an Aiuthor and as Jamaican natives. Many were blessed and empowered for the rest of the day The Workshop began in the afternoon with 2 Bestsellers, Dr Dawn Menge and Tifani Teachey

There were little storytelling tips for the young at heart. The Seminar and Workshop was informative, engaging, and fun, and attendees left feeling inspired and motivated to take their writing to the next level

I am married. I have four children and four grandchildren. I am the CEO and founder of Anchor to Teach LLC and also Dr. Erica Speaks. With my Anchor to Teach platform, what I tend to do is I go out and I work with various educators, a lot of the superintendents as well as principals with ensuring that they have what is needed to ensure that teachers have the necessary tools for themtobeproductiveintheclassroom.

I identified with poetry when I was first introduced to it when I was 12 years old in my 6th grade English class. 9 years later I sign my first international contract with Austin Macauley Publishers I started my autobiography / biography in my 2nd semester in college, 6 months later I submit it to Austin Macauley,Iwasnowinmy4thsemesterfinishingup the beauty program I was in. Around December of 2018 I received my first contract with a letter from theeditorialboard,statinghowmuchtheylovedmy script and how powerful it was to read. A year passes I signed another contract for a children's book, which is still in production awaiting release. An Italian Recipe

Spagetti with Mussels

Tempo di preparionze: 20 mins

Dosi per: 4 persone

Ingredients

SPAGHETTI WITH MUSSELS

400g of spaghetti

1 kg of mussels, cleaned

3 garlic cloves, finely chopped

6 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil

350g of cherry tomatoes (blended)

2 handfuls of flat-leaf parsley, roughly chopped sea salt

Method

1 Cook the spaghetti in a pan of salted water until al-dente. This should take about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, steam the mussels open in a large lidded saucepan. Once the shells have opened, set aside, reserving the mussel cooking juices

2 Heat the oil in a large frying pan, then fry the garlic and add blended cherry tomatoes. Cook until the tangy taste is removed. Add the reserved mussel liquid, then simmer until you have a thin sauce

3 Drain the spaghetti and add it to the pan, along with the mussels. Stir until everything is combined, then stir in the parsley, and a generous seasoning of sea salt Serve straight away in a warm bowl
