Cool Girls Look at Explosions Claire Murphy Digital Collage, 2100x2100 pixels This piece shows both the individual, the woman wearing sunglasses, and the driving force, the explosion reflected in her glasses. The drama unfolding suggests the urge for the subject to react to the explosion and the response to the situation.

Amorphous Erica Stephens

Capture. Me. My. Love. As a falling star Highlights a charcoal background. Silver twinkets overflowing from above Yet, stillPreparing for my arrival. Release. Me. My. Love. I am a prisoner of my own imagination Subject to abstract thoughts, lucid dreams, complete exclusivityContemplator of my very existence Developer of my final attack. As humans of the Earth, we are our biggest driver behind impulses in life, good and bad. Amorphous seeks to reimagine the negative connotation associated with the word ‘impulse’ and allow individuals to reclaim their own narrative. Despite the odds, we continue to learn and grow from situations even if we feel we feel like we have no sense of direction.

What Grew From the Clearing

Sophie Scott Oil on Canvas

Both my story and these specific paintings were created during the quarantine or the pandemic in general. The anxieties and themes of that time are reflected in the works, as well as themes of identity/individuality, aging/growing, inner strength, and family.
