36-hole stroke play format. The top (5) five finishers in the Southern California Assistant PGA Championship will advance to the PGA Assistant National Championship. This includes the Champion.
ELIGIBILITY
Only A-8 and B-8 classifications are eligible; must be eligibly employed and in good standing at the time of entry and as of August 4, 2025 to enter. B-8 must have completed Level 1 and started Level 2 to be eligible.
STARTING TIMES
Monday, August 11th - Round 1 will begin at 7:30 A.M. off the first & tenth tees. Round 2 will take place, on the same day, immediatly following the first round. Start times subject to change.

The top-5 finishers will advance to the 49th National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship on November 13-16, 2025, at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. There will be 3 alternates.

2024 CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
RAJ SAMRA CLAIMS FIRST ASSISTANT CHAMPIONSHIP
CAMARILLO, CA – (Monday, August 12th, 2024) Raj Samra of Wilshire Country Club is the 2024 National Car Rental Southern California Assistant PGA Professional Champion after shooting a six under par, 136 in the 36-hole stroke play event at Las Posas Country Club.
29 Assistant Professionals congregated in Camarillo hoping to earn a spot in the top five to earn an exemption into the 48th PGA Assistant National Championship. After claiming his first SCPGA Assistant Championship victory, Samra said, “It was actually a really tricky golf course out here today but I putted really well and tried to stay focused by taking it one shot at a time. It means a lot to get back to the National Assistant Championship in Florida again and I’m looking forward to representing the Section.”
The following four players will be joining Samra at the 48th PGA Assistant National Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, November 14th-17th.
