BRAZOS
HOWDY, BRAZOS VALLEY!
It truly fills my heart with joy to bring this city guide to the heart of the Brazos Valley. Tapping into my family roots and connecting with this vibrant community through this annual publication is an incredibly special experience.
As owner/editor, I reflect on my childhood. Recalling the summers I spent with my grandma at the local ice cream shop in Brenham, enjoying the simple pleasure of a sweet treat. Tailgating at the football games, dreaming of one day being a part of this great university and tradition. Attending church camp in Caldwell and making childhood friends. These memories are a small part of what makes the Brazos Valley so special to me. It is truly a privilege to now contribute to this incredible community!
This guidebook is a celebration of the people and businesses that make our community so remarkable. From local restaurants and retailers to real estate and everything in between, The Scout Guide is proud to spotlight the best of what the Brazos Valley has to offer.
Whether you’re a long - time local, a recent arrival, or just passing through, I hope this guide inspires you to explore and support the wonderful businesses that make this area thrive. Our local businesses are the heartbeat of this community, and they make our cities feel alive and unique. It’s crucial that we continue to recognize and support them in every way we can.
So, dive into this guidebook and discover hidden gems you may not have known about, or reconnect with beloved businesses you’ve supported for years. I deeply appreciate each and every one of you for choosing to support local, and am honored to be a part of the Brazos Valley community.
With heartfelt gratitude,

With over 3,200 burials, this cemetery, established in 1890 as a Masonic site, honors Caldwell and Burleson Countyʼs rich history. While the Masons took ownership in 1890, at least three burials date back to 1860. The cemetery, reflecting the areaʼs Czech and German roots, is the final resting place of veterans, local leaders, and many who shaped the community. In 1950, ownership transferred to the Caldwell Cemetery Association, and in 1964, burials from Krueger Cemetery were relocated due to Lake Somerville.
