Dwayne Rawls
Good evening! It is my esteemed privilege tonight to present this year’s Lifetime Achievement award. Our very deserving recipient is likely no stranger to anyone in this room. Dwayne Rawls joined our Association thirty years ago in 1992. Just two years later in 1994, Dwayne was elected to the Board of Directors where he has served for some 25 of those 30 years. In that time, there are only two committees that he hasn’t served on and has been the chair or co-chair of most all of them.
I know whenever I meet a new supplier member to the Association, I will absolutely mention Dwayne’s name within the first few sentences. He has made it his personal mission to share his years of experience at GNAA to mentor and assist new members in every way that he can. Be it one-on-one conversations, supplier luncheons, or leading New Member Mixers, Dwayne takes seriously his personal mission to help others to follow in his footsteps to make their membership valuable to their businesses, and to also add value to the future of the Association. Dwayne is the husband and partner to Penny, dad to Jerry and Brandon, and a colleague and friend to us all!

“Trail Blazers” is the unofficial nickname within the Association that we have for our industry veterans who have served GNAA for 20 years or more. Dwayne is absolutely one of those “Trail Blazers.” At this time, I’d ask all of the “Trail Blazers” in the room, as well as all that will become “Trail Blazers,” to raise their glasses for a toast to Dwayne Rawls, the 2022 GNAA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
