We are delighted to host Merete Rasmussen’s second solo show at the Gallery. Merete is a Danish artist who studied at Designkolen Kolding before moving to London, in 2005, where she currently lives and works.

Her hand built stoneware forms are emphasised by a monochrome matt surface. She finds that strong colour brings further importance, strength and energy to her complex forms.

The National Museums Scotland acquired a piece for their public collection from Merete’s first exhibition in 2010 and subsequently the Victoria & Albert Museum, London and The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge have also acquired pieces of her work.
