DESIGN E X P L O R AT I O N Last year, we were proud to participate in the groundbreaking Reap What You Sow study, which revealed a wealth of valuable data on the impact of biophilic design in workplaces.

Inspired by these insights, we wanted to use the data from this study to create something tangible that could empower designers, architects, and businesses to make informed decisions about biophilic investments.

The result is the world's first Biophilic Wellbeing Calculator—a practical tool that allows you to see what level of ROI (Return on Investment) you could potentially achieve through embracing a holistic biophilic design in your workplace.

To celebrate its launch, we’ve invited the study’s authors to share their expertise and offer a deeper understanding of the data that underpins this innovation.

There will also be a live demonstration of the tool to showcase how it works and its practical applications.

MEET THE SPEAKERS JOYCE CHAN

SCHOOF

Joyce is a PhD Researcher at the Design School of Loughborough University. This case study was part of her doctoral field-study to develop a Valuing Biophilic Model to make a business case for human-centric design.

She is an Architect with two decades of experience in sustainable design, and is currently Head of Programme Requirements for UK Parliament.

She is passionate about bringing research into practice.

DEREK CLEMENTS

CROOME Professor Clements-Croome is an Emeritus Professor in the School of The Built Environment at the University of Reading in Architectural Engineering research. His projects focus on the impact of wearables on office workers, and health and mental wellbeing in the workplace.

Professor Derek Clements-Croome has co-authored numerous reports and guidance, including the recently published Intelligent Buildings and Infrastructure with Sustainable and Social Values.
