A conversation with the Head of College Mr John Weeks
R U OK? Today is National R U OK? Day. It is that time when we focus on our emotional wellbeing in a caring and sensitive way. We are all connected to each other and collectively we have the power to help each other to be OK. Our School Leaders: Stella Gavey and Grace Milton from Year 12, spoke passionately to the students this morning. Here is their address: The R U OK? Mission is to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with and support those around them. R U OK? Day is today. It’s a National day of action when we are reminded that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” if someone in our world is struggling with life’s ups and downs. 2020 has been a challenging year for many and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. A conversation could change a life. You’re never too young to look out for one another and ask R U OK? A range of circumstances can lead to a young person feeling low, including: • Big life changes like moving house or school • Experiencing grief or loss • Being around people going through tough times • Being bullied • Arguing with someone continued page 2 Scots Campus Pre-K, Boarding (Years 5-12), Senior School (Years 9-12) 4173 O’Connell Road BATHURST NSW 2795
