A conversation with the Head of College

upcoming major events

Mr John Weeks

The past, the present, the future. Just as schools are important academic institutions, they are key social organisations that make significant contributions to our community. While our energies and focus are on the now generation, as it should be, we have past generations upon which the present school is built and we have a responsibility to plan for a sustainable and successful future for generations to come. It is important that those of us who enjoy being students, teachers and parents of Scots All Saints College “honour the past and build the future”. With this in mind, a number of projects are underway. On both campuses, museums are being created in non-teaching areas of the schools. On the All Saints Campus a committee of Old Bathurstians has worked quickly to establish the ‘Old Bathurstians’ Museum’. Stage 1 is almost complete and with their ongoing efforts, Esrom House will in time become a ‘living museum’ while continuing to operate as an administration centre. Likewise, at the Scots Campus, Karralee and the adjoining building is being prepared to house and display the memorabilia from the original school. Both museums will be available for student research, past student reunions, community use and administrative purposes. Importantly, both museums will begin a new collection, a new history, the one we are making right now. That is, of course, the Scots All Saints College built on the past, continuing into the future with confidence. At the Spring Fair on the All Saints Campus, call in to see the first stage of the ‘Old Bathurstians’ Museum’ and speak to members of the committee about the plans for the future.
