Performance notes Piano: Preparation: Sticky tack. The damped keys must have a ticking sound (similar to the wood block) with just a slight touch of pitch.

1st movement: From the beginning this register must be damped with sticky tack: In the rest between bar 67 and 87, the soloist removes the sticky tack.

2nd movement: Percussion player 2 (who is not playing in the 2nd movement) goes to the piano during the performance to replace sticky tack (before bar 56) to damp this register:

Strings: bridge-key: bow directly on the bridge, no pitch, only noise (damp strings with left hand) 'vertical' bowing (vl. 1,2, bar 166): move the bow in the direction of the string (longitudinal bowing), use the lower part of the bow to produce a hissing, s-like sound. Arrow down: start the movement close to the bridge, move in the direction of the fingerboard; arrow up: start the movement over the fingerboard, move towards the bridge Pizz with fingernail

With the tip of the frog (the screw) of the bow, (carefully) knock on the bridge (vla, vlc., bar 174 - 175)

General: From bar 155 - 204 (1st movement) the music is based on the transcription of the rhythm of a text. To support the performance of the complex rhythm, the text is printed in the score on a separate staff as 'the unspoken text'. It shall not be performed.

The text should be printed in all parts in a separate staff.
