Elena Mendoza (b. 1973) is a native of Seville, Spain, where she studied German language and literature. This was followed by studies in piano and composition in Saragossa with Teresa Catalán, in Augsburg with John Van Buren, in Düsseldorf with Manfred Trojahn and at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Hanspeter Kyburz. She held scholarships at various institutions, including the Ensemble Modern Akademie in Frankfurt. Elena Mendoza lives and works in Berlin, where she holds a position as Professor of Composition at the University of the Arts.
Elena Mendoza (*1973) stammt gebürtig aus Sevilla in Spanien. Sie studierte Germanistik in ihrer Heimatstadt sowie Klavier und Komposition in Saragossa bei Teresa Catalán, in Augsburg bei John Van Buren, in Düsseldorf bei Manfred Trojahn und an der Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin bei Hanspeter Kyburz. Mehrere Stipendien führten sie u.a. an die Ensemble Modern Akademie in Frankfurt am Main. Elena Mendoza lebt und arbeitet in Berlin, wo sie als Professorin für Komposition an der Universität der Künste lehrt.
