Daníel Bjarnason (b. 1979) studied piano and composition in Reykjavík, Iceland and orchestral conducting at the Musikhochschule Freiburg. Bjarnasons’s versatility as an arranger and conductor has led to many collaborations outside the classical feld. He worked with composer Ben Frost to create Music for Sólaris, a work for string orchestra, percussion, prepared piano and electronics. Bjarnason has won numerous awards and grants; in 2008 and 2011 he was awarded a special recommendation at the International Rostrum for Composers. His works The Isle Is Full of Noises, Over Light Earth and Processions won him the prize for Best Composer at the Icelandic Music Awards, and his score for the flm The Deep was awarded Best Film Score at the Icelandic Film and Television Awards in 2013.
Daníel Bjarnason (*1979) studierte Klavier und Komposition in Reykjavík sowie Dirigieren an der Musikhochschule Freiburg. Seine Vielseitigkeit als Arrangeur und Dirigent führte zu zahlreichen Gemeinschaftsprojekten auch über die klassische Musik hinaus. So schuf er zusammen mit Ben Frost das Werk Music for Sólaris für Streichorchester, Schlagzeug, präpariertes Klavier und Elektronik. Bjarnason ist Empfänger zahlreicher Preise und Stipendien; 2008 und 2011 erhielt er lobende Anerkennung beim International Rostrum for Composers. Für The Isle Is Full of Noises, Over Light Earth und Processions wurde er bei den Icelandic Music Awards als bester Komponist ausgezeichnet, und mit der Musik zu The Deep gewann er bei den Icelandic Film and Television Awards 2013 den Preis für die beste Filmmusik.
