With a pair of schools seeking their first-ever volleyball state championships in their program’s history, Oglethorpe County and Bremen square off for a chance to bring home a new trophy to the trophy case. Bremen, the No. 1 team in the Class A Volleyball State Playoffs, has only let up two sets on its march to the state championship game, defeating Crawford County, Dade County, Fannin County and Chattooga before they take on Oglethorpe County. While the Bremen Blue Devils have nine upperclassmen on its roster, Oglethorpe has made it to the state championship game with only six upperclassmen, as some of the young players have made a difference in their journey to the state championship. The Patriots have defeated Commerce, Armuchee, Lake Oconee Academy, and Gordon Lee before they face Bremen at noon on Wednesday at LakePoint. Sophomore Leanna Newton led the Patriots with 405 kills this season, while senior Elizabeth Cook has added 361 ahead of their state championship matchup.

Coming off of the program's third state championship a season ago, the Hebron Christian Golden Lions volleyball team has made it back to the state championship in 2025 where they seek the school's first-ever back-to-back volleyball state title. Their opposition, the Lovett Lions, are looking for their programs first volleyball state championship in over a decade, with the Lions last volleyball state championship coming in 2012. The defending Class A-3A Private champions in Hebron Christian came into the postseason as the top team in the bracket and have dominated its competition thus far heading into the finals. The Golden Lions had a bye in the first round before taking down Fellowship Christian in the Sweet 16, GACS in the quarterfinals, and Trinity Christian in the semifinals before now taking on Lovett this Wednesday at 5 p.m. at LakePoint. Lovett has let up one set so far this postseason and defeated Mt. Paran Christian in the semifinals during its journey to the state championship.
