SCARBROUGH LEADS IMG AGAINST TALENTED TRINITY

n IMG Academy’s first varsity season, coach Chris Weinke has his squad off to a 7-0 start and has posted double-digit margins of victory in each of the wins. There have not been too many answers for stopping quarterback Michael O’Connor, a Penn State commitment, and his talented cast of playmakers.

Three-star Matthew Boateng and Shane Dixon both star at wideout and defensive back and running back Bo Scarbrough is the No. 4-rated prospect in Florida. At 6-foot2, 225-pounds, the Alabama-commit and 5-star athlete appears to be unstoppable out of the IMG Academy backfield. Scarbrough has carried the ball 108 times for 1,118 yards (10.35 yards per carry) this season and has scored 15 touchdowns. The physical back has also caught a pair of scores this season.

Trinity Christian’s challenge will be stopping Scarbrough and the big play ability of Boateng, Dixon and Case Gunderson, who has led the offense with six receiving scores this season. Despite IMG Academy’s firepower, the Conquerors may have the personnel capable of derailing IMG Academy’s plan of attack and could hold the edge in this matchup. The answer: Jeffery Holland. For anyone unfamiliar with this 5-star junior linebacker, he lives in opponents’ backfields and leads a very fast and aggressive Trinity Chris-

tian defensive. At 6-foot-2, 230-pounds, Holland has posted 12 of Trinity Christian’s 42 tackles for loss this season and has recorded 10 of the Conquerors’ 17 total sacks.

IMG Academy junior offensive tackle Tyree St. Louis will his hands full as Holland and the athletic linebackers apply pressure to O’Connor with various blitz packages.

The Trinity Christian star-studded secondary allows the defense its ability to dial up the pressure, and O’Connor and the wideouts will face this season’s biggest test yet.

Cornerback Kevin Tolliver II (LSU-commit) is the No. 2 rated Class of 2015 recruit in the state of Florida and safety Ben Edwards is a 3-star junior with offers from Auburn, Boston College and East Carolina. David Crowley is a two-way playmaker who has hauled in a team-high three interceptions this season.

On offense, Trinity Christian’s biggest weapon is Louisville-commit Isaiah Ford, who leads the Conquerors’ receiving corps. Ford has turned 20 receptions into eight touchdowns this season. IMG Academy will look to prevent Ford from going deep by using 6-foot-4 safety Shane Dixon over the top in coverage.
