Bill Curry 1. To be eligible for the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame, a Bobby Dodd nomination must be for an individual or team in the Buddy Curry Greater Atlanta Area as defined by the U.S. Census MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area). This is a 28 Edith McGuire-Duvall county area. 2. A nominee must have been born in Greater Atlanta Julia Emmons or resided in the Greater Atlanta area long enough to have attended high school, and/or participated in a Dale Ellis sports activiy in Greater Atlanta for a least four years. Bill Elliott 3. A nominee must have participated in their sport or activity for a least 20 years, or have been retired for 3 Walt Frazier years, or in the event of death an individual or team is immediately eligible. Tom Glavine 4. Honorees must be present at the Induction CereBuck Godfrey mony to be inducted. Joe Hamilton 5. All nominees will go through a multi-tiered screening process. The Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to honoring Atlanta’s sports heroes, remembering great moments in Atlanta’s sports history and preserving the past from which future generations can learn and take pride.

2020 Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame Artwork Program Under the direction of art teacher Julie Denison, six Kell High School Advanced Placement art students researched the 2020 inductees. The students then created artwork celebrating the athletic achievements and contributions of each individual. The artwork is displayed tonight in the lobby of College Football Hall of Fame.

Class of 2020 INDUCTEES

Morten Andersen 1). Played 8 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons (1995-2000,and 2006-2007). 2). In Dec. 1995, became the first player in NFL history to kick 3 field goals of over 50 yards in a single game. 3). Kicked winning field goal in 1998 NFC Championship Game to send Falcons to their first-ever Super Bowl. 4). Enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.

Calvin Johnson

1). Letterman in football and baseball at Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, GA. 2). 2 time 1st Team All American at Georgia Tech (2005, 2006). 3). Won Fred Biletnikoff Award and ACC Player of Year in 2006. 4). Six-time Pro Bowler with Detroit Lions (2010-2015). 5). Held 8 NFL records and 9 Lions Franchise records at his retirement in 2016.

Dikembe Mutombo

1). Played for the Atlanta Hawks for 5 Years (1996-2001). His #55 retired by the Atlanta Hawks. 2). Four-time NBA Defensive Player of Year (1995, 1997,1998, and 2001). 3). Eight-time NBA All Star (1992,1995-1998, 2000-2002). 4). Known for his signature "finger wag" after his denial of a dunk attempt. 5). Inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015.

Garland Pinholster

1).Compiled 181-67 record as Oglethorpe's Basketball Coach (1956-1966) 2). Author or 5 books and developed "Wheel Offense" for Basketball. 3). Coached the USA team to a gold medal in the 1963 Pan American Games. 4). Driving force in the Atlanta Tipoff Club in 1950s and 1960s. 5). Helped start the Naismith Award in Basketball.

Gary Stokan

1). President of the Atlanta Sports Council (1998-2009). 2). President of Atlanta Tipoff Club (2005-2010). 3). CEO and President of Peach Bowl Inc. (1998-present). 4). Led Atlanta's effort to brand inself "The Sports Capital of the World". 5). Visionary and leader in bringing College Football Hall of Fame to Atlanta.

Margaret Matthews Wilburn

1). Two-time Georgia State long jump champion (1952 & 1953) Howard High School. 2). First women to leap 20 feet in the long jump. 3). Captain of the famed Tennessee State "Tigerbells". 4). Captured bronze medal in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics in 4 X 100 meters. 5). Won silver medal in long jump at the 1959 Pan American Games.
