On Sunday, Benje, Tramp, Chapdawg and I met at Mike’s Friendly Pub to ride to the Sand Trap. The benefit was for Autumn Brantley who has been diagnosed with Sideroblastic Anemia. The band, Lost & Found were already kicking out some tunes and sounding good when we arrived.

The next hour or so brought in so many people they were parking on the side of both roads next to the Sand Trap. Free Wheelin Franklin said there had to be at least 243 people in attendance (Franklin is a very accurate and fast counter). But, the place was packed! The food was ready and people started chowing down a little at a time.

Our own Scootergoods staff member “BIG RAGOO” did one hell of a good job MCing for this event. Carmine had auctioning skills knowone never knew about, including him. Even the weather was cooperating.People and vendors kept donating items for the cause, and some people donated the prizes back (Cont. Pg. 12)

(Autumn from 6) to be bid on again. This is how bikers react when someone is in need. This benefit was a huge success. Jeff, Myrna, the Sand Trap staff, & everyone involved in this benefit did a great job. The Brothers and Sisters who showed up to support and give to this cause are what being a part of the biker community is all about, and I want to thank all of you for this. Scootergoods was glad to be a part of this benefit and helped raise $4,317 towards the cause. That is an astounding amount of help for this young lady from the biker community. If you have not visited the Sand Trap, then you need to

go there right now and check it out. The Sand Trap is located on the east side of hwy 19 between hwy 98 and hwy 50. This place is great, and the staff will make you feel welcome and right at home. Tell them Charlie W. sent ya. It was time to head to the old recliner, so I loadedup on Benje’s suzuki and headed that way. As I was riding home, I remembered why I attend and contribute to events like this. It is all about giving what you can to help someone in need. I am proud to part of a biking community that shows how much they care. Til next time................. Ride Safe & Often Charlie W.

Dear Scootergoods Magazine Staff & The Sandtrap I am writing to personally Thank You. Because of your generosity and support of the Community, “The Benefit for Autumn” was a huge Success! Thanks so much for taking the time to organize the event. The donations will now allow us to pay for some of the medical bills that have piled up over the past 2 years. The rest will help us with housing and food while Autumn undergoes her 2nd Bone Marrow Transplant this year. We appreciate everything you have done!! Thank You Again, Autumn,Jaime and Scott Brantley

January 1, 2012 first run of the year and it was big. I took off this morning to the Aviation Museum in Garden City, NY to meet up with some friends. This year it was packed with a ton of caring brothers and sisters which most of us I gotta say were pretty hung over from the night before. Everyone was ready to take care of business to help the Camp Adventure Facility for Kids with Cancer. There were more bikes at this run than I have ever seen on previous ones. The parking lots overflowed into other parking lots. You got to give Fingers the credit that he deserves for the perfect first run of the year

After hooking up with a few brothers and hanging out in the Aviation Museum for a while, Fingers gave a little speech about the run and a certain brother that always rode with him but unfortunately, passed away. He also said that his friend was the kind of person that couldn’t pass anyone that needed help or was broke down. I think from the looks of the crowd your friend’s light shined on all of us today. It seems that your brother, Ski doubled the anti this year from the heavens to 2000 strong to help kids in need. You see Fingers only made 1,000 patches and 2,000 came. I managed to borrow a friend’s patch to take a picture of it and in the corner of the patch it had Ski Tour. (I’m sure Ski had something to do with the turnout.) The ride was really organized and Fingers even got the cops from different counties to block the roads and exits without busting anyone. The weather was perfect and the ride went real smoothe without a hitch. (Cont. Pg 14)

(NYC Irish from 13) It ended up at Mulcahy’s in Centereach, Long Island, NY. It was so packed we had to park two blocks away it was like playing dodge ball but instead of a ball it was motorcycles all over. It was a lot of fun. There was a line out the door to get in with food on hand and suds flowing at the bar. Voodoo Rhythm Devils played some rock’n sounds. It was a great time. If you are around the Long Island area the first of the year in 2013 and feel like you want to start the year off doing good and having an awesome time doing it check out the 10th Cold Finger Run next January 1st. Good job bro! Will be looking forward to the next one. If you need info. on the run check out NYC Irish

It is a fact Bikers like to hang out with Bikers. So on Jan. 7 I was in Leesburg doin’ just that for a free concert at Gator HD.The event was hosted by Big Don (Left) with live music, & vendors. The Hayfire band & the Saloonatics where dam good. The inside if the store was bustling with lots ofscooterheads takin’ advantage of the after holiday sales. I got to try Uncle Vinny’s Wings also & highly reccomend them. It was hard to believe it was January becuase we wuz all runnin’ around in TEE Shirts. YEP it was 78 degrees.

Riders came in from both the West and East Coast,& from north & south to welcome in the New Year. There wuz plenty of Laughin’ Smokin’ & Dirty Jokin’ goin’ on. All of the event money raised went to OUR VETERANS & you know how I feel THEY DESERVE OUR THANKS AND RESPECT. I would like to thank Big Don & Gator for their hospitality and I will most surely be attending another great event there when they have one. “DonV”

Hello Scooterfolks, I’ve been going around to some of the local bike nites, the Horse and Crown has a new bike nite on Tuesdays hosted by Joy (Joyful Noiz) this bike nite is progressively getting better every week, it draws about 25 bikes and a few cars to enjoy the music, games and fun put on by Joy. The Horse and Crown is located just north of Lowes on hwy. 19 in Spring Hill, in a small strip mall, they are a full liquor bar and have free food on the bike nite, it should do very well, so if you need something on a Tuesday night stop by the Horse and Crown and party with Joy. On Jan 12th Brother John and I went to the bike nite at the Coney Island in Brooksville, it was a pleasant night with temps in the 60,s. There were about 25 bikes in the parking lot when we arrived, Joy was doing her magic with games and music. (Next Page)

We had a nice talk with Blair the owner, we tried some of his chicken wings, very tasty, he also has draft beer for a penny a glass on bike nite , I doubt you could find a better deal any ware around. The Coney Island bike nite has been around for a long time, I believe it is the longest running bike nite in the area. I also think Joy is the longest running D.J in the area. We thank both of you for doing what you do for the biker community, it is much appreciated by everyone. One of the hi-lites of the night is the best bike award that was won by Mark, he just moved down here from New York, he built this old school style bobber shovelhead from a bunch of parts and a wrecked bike. A mighty fine job and a popular style right now, we hope to see you around again. Well that’s about it for now. Ride safe MILKIE

MILKIE: On the weekend before Christmas brother John and I went to a party at the “Bob Cole Compound” in Darby. Bob has a good sized piece of property on Bellamy Brothers road. About 25 years ago he built a small log building where he and his family lived while he improved the property with pasture fence, out buildings and a large log home, all built by Bob. The small building became a work shop and later a bar for party’s, the walls and rafters of the building are full of old motorcycle parts and memorabilia, you could sit for hours looking and still not see it all. Bob had a big cooler of beer and soda and BBQ cooking all day, he also had 2 live bands to entertain everyone. You could sit by the fire, enjoy the music, pitch a tent, stay the night and enjoy the “survivor breakfast”. The Bob Cole Compound is in the top 10 of my list of very cool places to see. I want to thank Cindy the vendor girl that owns little treasures for telling me about this great event and introducing us to Bob. Unfortunately Brother John and I had to leave early because of another commitment that evening but we decided to make next years party and check out the survivor breakfast. We were truly impressed with Bob and his accomplishments, we had a good time and will be back next year. Thanks Bob. MILKIE

Each and every one of us that ride have a common enemy THE DISTRACTED DRIVER. We must constantly be on the look out for drivers doing all sorts of schitt they should’nt be and not paying attention to the road. Distracted driving is a dangerous epidemic on America’s roadways. In 2009 alone, nearly 5,500 people were killed and 450,000 more were injured in distracted driving crashes Distracted driving defined: is any activity that could divert a person’s attention away from the primary task of driving. All distractions endanger driver, passenger, and bystander safety. These types of distractions include:•Texting •Using a cell phone or smartphone •Eating and drinking •Talking to passengers •Grooming •Reading, including maps•Using a navigation system•Watching a video •Adjusting a radio, CD player, or MP3 player (Next Page)

(Distracted from 26) But, because text messaging requires visual, manual, and cognitive attention from the driver, it is by far the most alarming distraction. 1) Drivers who use hand-held devices are 4 times more likely to get into crashes serious enough to injure themselves & others. 2) Sending or receiving a text takes a driver’s eyes from the road for an average of 4.6 seconds, the equivalent-at 55 mph-of driving the length of an entire football field, blind. 3) Using a cell phone while driving - whether it’s hand-held or handsfree delays a driver’s reactions as much as having a blood alcohol concentration at the legal limit of .08 percent. 4) Driving while using a cell phone reduces the amount of brain activity associated with driving by 37%. These are just some of the facts. The best defense is a good offense, SO PLEASE watch out for the distracted drivers out there when you are riding. It most definatley will save your life. And perhaps FLIPPIN them the BONE will make them think to WATCH OUT FOR MOTORCYLES. “BEANCAN”

What’s up Brothers and Sisters:This months story is a little different. There is a really cool old home in Brooksvillethat Cindy & I where wanting to buy & turn into a cool resturant, we had the visionand the plan and it would have been a showplace of the town. But that ain’t enough,we did not have the money to pull it off. There is a good ending to the story that is only the beggining as it were. We are talking about the Scarbourough house on Jefferson Ave.It was built in 1864, Hell the wars between the staes was still raging at that time. It is one of the oldest and most famous houses in the area and has been empty and blowing away for years. It is listed on the historical registar and is a gem of history and a link back to simple times and small town ways that are dear is all our hearts and souls. I have listened to stories from Uncle James abiut his growing up in the place with all the rich history of the Saxons, Hopes & Scarbouroughs. And Rogers is a very rich part of our history too! Well the great news is a great friend on mine named Angie Love And her aunt bought the place and saved it from the wreaking Ball. So on the food side, they are cleaning and redoing the place as we speak, and will have weddings, catering and events abnd seminars all with the old southern charm and flair. We have some other great history here too! Like Coney Island Hot Dogs, Crossroads & Miss Kitty’s, so come into town and enjoy them. We have suffered the loss of Rogers Christmas House though. We need a boost both historically and economically, in our town so Thanks Angie Baby, I will be in touch with you and your Aunt to help where I can. Until we Eat Again “Capt. Well another Fun Run is in the books with another “beautiful day in paradise”. We had an outstanding turnout with well over 80 people throwin da dice. It was actually good that we kinda left each stop in smaller groups instead of the bum rush the bars coulda got. Thunder provided doughnuts to get us started, Mickey’s had free hot dogs, Mouse Trap had Mark’s free Cajun food, and when we got to Sunray the feed bag was full of scrumptous fixins. I would like to say thanks to all the “newbies” on the ride, hope ya had as much fun as we all do every month, come join us again for the next one and bring someone new wit ya. Keep the topside UP! Ever see a product and wonder “Why did’nt I think of that’? Take Doggles for instance, the doggie eye protection that is just not for ScooterPooches. They block wind, rain and UV rays from harming your 4 legged friends eyes. Besides protecting the peepers of pooches here in the USA, Doggles protect the eyes of our Pooches in uniform. I would venture to guess the dog that went with seal team 6 to get that asswhole Osama Bin Laden was probly wearing a pair. They are also working on some for sheilding the eyes of search and rescue dogs like the ones used at grond zero in NY. Doggles LLC has sold millions of pairs at $19.95 a wack. Here is a shocker THE PET ROCK Some jabrone had the idea to put a rock in a box equiped with a nest. The Bastid made over 56 million bucks by selling rocks you can pick up anywhere. Next, Sea Monkey’s those little specs of dust ya put in water and they miraculoucly come alive right before you very eyes. Well them guys made over 10 million bucks with that schitt. Last but not least MOOD RINGS, I don’t know what they used but at one time just about every guy I know was buying one for his ole lady to see if it would give him and indication of rather or not he was gonna get smooched or hit with a fryin’ pan. This invention also made millions. “BEANCAN”

The Gears of War Trike By Paul Jr.

The wheels of the trike include the Gears of War cog skull symbol and the paint resembles armor used in the game. It features crash bars to fight locusts, dual gattling guns and 14 inch wide tires. Episodes aired on American Chopper September 19th and 26th to coincide with the Gears of War 3 game release September 20th. Jr. has also built several other bikes and has remained quite busy since his split with Sr. I have not really seen anything coming out of the old Orange County Choppers since Paul Jr. left there and am gonna see what I can find out. NO SKOOL: We have all heard the haunting and not easily forgotten melody of TAPS. The sounds and words cause one to become emotional and sentimental. Do you know the connected account behind the song? If not, you will be pleased to read about beginning of TAPS and how it touches and connects us to its meaningful melody and words. The purpose of this memo is evident by asking three questions, (1) have you ever thought about the fact that it isn’t easy to forget the melody of TAPS, (2) doesn’t the melody of TAPS give us a lump in our throats and tears in our eyes, and (3) do you know the origin and words of TAPS? The answer to one and two is yes. Read on for the answer to question three. It started during the Civil War in 1862 when Union Captain Robert Ellicombe was with his men near Harrison Landing, Virginia. The Confederate Army was on the other side of the narrow strip of land. During the night Captain Ellicombe heard the moans of a soldier who was severely wounded on the field. Not knowing who it was, a Union or Confederate soldier, he decided to risk his own life and bring the wounded man back for medical attention. Crawling on his stomach through gunfire, he reached the wounded soldier pulled him back to his own lines. When the captain finally reached his own lines, he discovered the wounded man was a Confederate soldier. He was his own son.The young man had been studying music in the south when the war broke out and without telling his father, the young man had enlisted in the Confederate Army. (Cont. Pg. 50)

(NO SKOOL from 46) The following morning, heartbroken because the young man had died during the night, the captain asked permission to give his son a full military buriel despite his enemy status. His request was only partially granted. The captain asked if he could have a group of Army Band members play a funeral dirge for his son at the funeral. The request was denied since his son was a Confederate soldier. However, out of respect for the father, the did say they could give him one musician. The captain chose a buglar and asked him to play a series of musical notes and words he had found on a piece of paper in the pocket of his son’s uniform. The haunting melody and words, which we now know as TAPS used at military funerals was born. TAPS: Day is done, Gone the sun, From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky, All is well, safely rest, God is night. Fading light, Dims the sight. And a star gems the sky gleaming bright, From afar, drawing nigh falls the night. Thanks and praises,For our days.Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky,As we go, this we know,God is nigh. Now we know why the melody and the words of TAPS are so very meaningful.

WTF! Who left the fridge door open?? It’s been so dam cold the water on my knee done froze! Came home the other night & my legs were so dam stiff, I couldn’t raise my leg high enough to get off the bike (but at least I was riding). As predicted the dam political commercials are flooding us but the one commercial that really bugs me is the dam Geico “wee wee wee pig”! That little wee wee SOB makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Just want to take those little pin wheels & stick them up his ass, then wrap him up in his zip line & throw him on the grill! I know many of you don’t have a black bike but those of you that do - Turtle Wax “Color Magic” polish/wax - the shit works great for me. The polish/wax is actually black in color & covers up any swirls in the clear coat (looks like it had just been painted). It also does not leave the white residue that you get from other polishes/wax’s & comes off with ease (I have not seen it in any other color). Also those of you that still hand dry your bike are missing out by not using an electric leaf blower (2cycle gas ones produces a slight film of oil thru the blower). I use a Toro 215 mph job that leaves no film, no water spots, no excess (Cont Pg. 59)

I recieved several quetions about the quality, quantity & price of Gas in Florida & who is the consumer watchdog for petroleum products, keeping the fuel supply safe and making sure we get what we pay for. Here’s the POOP! Currently there are 9,025 retail facilities operating in Florida selling us gas. All are inspected by the FL. Bereau of Petroleum Inspection. During the 2010-2011fiscal year 97.9 percent of the samples collected and analyzed from more then 10 billion gallons of petrol met state standards, which are considered to be the strictest in the nation. Due to the efforts of the FBPI 510 STOP-SALE orders which prevented the sale of 17,877,298 gallons of substandard or improperly labeled fuel where issued. All toll inspectors conducted 277,762 petroleum inspections at both wholesale and retail outlets. As a result 4,946 pumps where cited for for improper calibration and 66,321 corrections where issued for poorly maintained pumps. The dept. also handled 3,306 petro-related consumer pricing complaints, as a result of posting the 1-800-HELPFLA hotline decal on pumps and elsewhere. Complaints concerntrated on fuel quality, meter accuracy and price. The feild staff is charged with responding to such complaints within 24 to 48 hours. The Department also uses numerous fruad investigation techniques including deployment of undercover vehicles to futher insure that consumers recieve fair mesure and quality. The unmarked undercover vehicles have specialy calibrated fuel tanks that enable a trained inspector to determine the pumps calibration without the station owners knowledge. Most of the undercover vehicles have confirmed that most pumps are accurate and we are receiving fair measure. “DDay”

A LITTLE HELMET HISTORY: Skull cap, skid lid, brain bucket--these terms are all used to describe the helmet. The motorcycle helmet really started off as the type of helmet that airplane pilots wore--a simple leather cap with a fur lining. USC Professor C.F. “Red” Lombard made it his mission to develop a motorcycle helmet designed to absorb the shock of an impact. Professor Lombard’s improved helmet originally consisted of an inner layer of comfortable material underneath an outer layer of material that absorbed and spread out the energy produced in an impact. Originally, the California Highway Patrol instituted regulations that motorcycle officers must wear a helmet. In 1966, the Highway Safety Act required states to have mandatory helmet laws if they wanted to receive federal funds for highway maintenance. In the same year, the American National Safety Standard for Motorcycle Helmets was introduced, which was designed to standardize helmets during production. Today, some states have no laws regarding helmets while other states require a helmet at all times. Various state Chapters of ABATE have done a good job eliminating Helmet LAWS IN SOME STATES SO RIDERS HAVE FREEDOM OF CHOICE. And as you know Florida is one of them. “Chickenman”

Is your Chrome cracked, bubbling or peeling? Typical Chrome Failure Question My 07 deuce has bubbling chrome on the upper triple tree, it also has a couple bubbles on the chrome controls and buck shot mirrors are flaking real bad. Any easy/cheap ways to cover this until I tear them off and get them re-chromed? Is there chrome touch up of some sort other out there? What we found out. You can not correctly touch up chrome. You can hide it but you can’t touch it up like a paint scratch. Chrome should not delaminate, from the substrate. Here’s the poop!! If your chrome plating is peeling, this is virtually always a manufacturing defect due to insufficient adhesion of the plating to the substrate. Although exposure conditions can certainly harm chrome, and discolor it or make it pit, they won’t make it peel! Decorative chrome plating (on most all motorcycle parts) is really called nickel-chrome plating because it always involves electroplating nickel onto the object before plating the chrome. The nickel plating provides the smoothness, much of the corrosion resistance, and most of the reflectivity. The chrome plating is exceptionally thin, measured in millionths of an inch rather than in thousandths. When you look at a decorative chrome plated surface, such as a chrome plated wheel, most of what you are seeing is actually the effects of the nickel plating. The chrome adds a bluish cast (compared to the somewhat yellowish cast of nickel), protects the nickel against tarnish, minimizes scratching, and symbiotically contributes to corrosion resistance. But the point is, without the brilliant leveled nickel undercoating, you would not have a reflective, decorative surface. It’s not always easy to tell chrome plating from other finishes if the parts are not side by side. When a decorative chrome electroplated finish sits right next to another bright finish, however, the other finish usually won’t compare very favorably. “

The 2012 Stiffer penalities Bill WTF is with adding bicycles to stiffer penalties bill. Bicycles don’t belong on the road period! They are unsafe on the roads & pay no funding or taxes. “The Scootergoods Magazine Staff” Senator Evers Files ABATE of FL’s Stiffer Penalties Bill Tallahassee, FL, January 11, 2012 - Senator Greg Evers has filed FL Senate Bill 1754 “Traffic Offenses”, on behalf of ABATE of Florida, Inc. This Bill is designed to require penalties more severe than the $166 some drivers have faced after hitting and killing motorcyclists. The text of the Bill as submitted in original form reads: “Traffic Offenses; Providing criminal penalties for a person who commits a moving violation that causes serious bodily injury to, or causes or contributes to the death of, a pedestrian or a person operating or riding in a motor vehicle or operating or riding on a motorcycle or bicycle; requiring that the person pay a specified fine, serve a minimum period of incarceration, and attend a driver improvement course; requiring that the court revoke the person’s driver license for a minimum specified period; providing that the act does not prohibit (Cont. the person from being charged with, convicted of, or punished for any other violation of law, etc.” Crazy Bastid: While we are at it with Bicycles being added to this legislation, I have a suggestion for Gov. Scott. The state needs some revenue so how about this. Make every Bicycle the uses state roadways pay a yearly $25 registarion fee and if they don’t have the sticker on their Bike issue them a $50.00 ticket, and that would go for Golf Carts too!. We the Motorcycle taxpayer pay for Bike Paths, signs, and 1000’s of miles of white lines and such on the highways of Florida, trash pickup and general maintenace so they have their fun. I don’t think there is any harm in asking these other groups to pay their fare share. It would also assure properly maintained Bycycle,Golf Carts are being used. And what about them under 50cc motobycycles racin, on our roadways with helmetless people who have mostly lost their license because of a DUI. They need to pony-up too! So get with it Gov. Scott and all you lazy legislators and think about what’s right. Remember Bikers Vote too!! “Crazy Bastid”

This month I would like to share some thoughts if you have to store your motorcycle for a month or more.Given the fact that our primary fuel these days has at least 10% ethanol in it, and mind you that is as it comes from the refinery, not taking in consideration how much residual ethanol is in the truck that delivers the fuel or how much is left in the underground tank at the gas station. So in my opinion percentages vary. But here is what we all know is factual about ethanol. Ethanol gums up and varnishes fuel systems, it is very harmful to any rubber component, it attracts moisture, and dose all of these things very quickly. Most guys will pop the gas cap on their bike and smell the fuel in the tank to detect the odor of stale fuel. that doesn’t always work, because it’s all about volume.( the amount of gas in tank) Two gallons of fuel will go bad slower than the few ounces of fuel in a carburetor, a fuel line or a fuel regulator on fuel injection machines, not to mention it also destroys in tank fuel level senders. So here is what I have found that works the best. We are fortunate in our area to have the airboats around that require high octane aviation fuel. You can buy it at the small air fields, and many gas stations near the lakes. Not only will this fuel stay stabile for long periods of time without damaging anything, your bike will run like a bat outta hell. Just remember, just pouring it in the motorcycle gas tank will not do the job, you have to ride the bike for a couple of miles so the aviation fuel gets through the entire fuel system. It’s a great piece of mind knowing as long as the battery is up on your bike it will start right up with no bad fuel damages that can be expensive. If you any questions regarding this tip, please feel free to call... P.S. aviation fuel will not fix fuel systems that have already had fuel go bad in them. Happy Motoring.....

Ladies…I have spoken many times about customizing your bikes to fit you properly. The better the fit, the better you can handle your ride. There are lowering kits, handlebars, ways to move the controls and custom seats. This month I am focusing on custom seats. Gary Schultz Mobile Upholstery has been in the business of custom seats for about 32 years. Gary says many people don’t know that seats can be made to fit the rider better. Lowering seat height without sacrificing comfort is possible. Memory foam can be installed under the cover to extend seat time by softening hard seats. Trimming seats in front sections can help shorter riders get their feet closer to the ground. Customizing seats by sewing inserts such as ostrich, alligator or snake or by matching color schemes…will give your seat a personal touch. Gary says you don’t have to buy a new seat if your is torn…It’s a great time to give it a personal touch! Embroidery can also be added when making a new cover. Torn panels can also possibly be replaced. Call Gary Schultz at 352-220-2976. While In Daytona new Years I got to meet Gary the Butt Rocket King in Daytona Beach The other Pic is a dog on the bike in Daytona! She stayed at our hotel and was awesome! Till Next Month, Road Queen We at Scootergoods would love to hear from you!! Write me Leave me your phone number and email address...Got a question? Need Advice? Just ask! Or please feel free to share a picture and your story. It’s a great way to encourage other women who are interested in riding. Tell us a bit about how you first started riding or share your most memorable ride.

We are asked all the time what is up with Billy Lane. Well since his incarceration in the Avon Park Workcamp in Florida for a drunk driving incident. Billy has been in the motor pool. He has been fixin’ state vehicles and teaching fellow inmates to weld. Here is a new twist on the deal! The Horse Magazine approached him and prison officals, to make it possible for Billy to build a custom Bike while in the slammer. YEP IN JAIL!! The Horse will be gathering up the swags as needed and getting them into the pokey so the project can come to fruition. There is no denying Billy’s Bike building skills are legendary. He is a master of metal forming and pop art bike magic. Currently his sister sells his six-gun parts on EBay. You can also find stuff by searching Choppers Inc. or Billy Lane. Also check out His sister Georgia can also be reached via e-mail, Billy is slated to get out of Prison in 2014 and who Knows what kind of great bike builds he has up his sleeve. I for one and looking forward to seeing the bike he builds behind bars upon completion. “DonV” Scootergoods Magazine

In 1964, at Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville Florida Ronnie Van Zant, Allen Collins, Gary Rossington, Larry Junstrom and Bob Burns formed THE NOBLE FIVE, and eventually changed the name to Lynryd Skynyd The bands name was a mock tribute to to their high school gym teacher Leonard Skinner, who disapproved of male students with long hair.As we all know the band went onto attain platinum statis and their 1st big hit was “ GIMME 3 STEPS” in 1973. They where inducted into the Rock N Roll hall of fame in 2006. It is a shame that Ronnie Van Zant who was killed in a plane crash in 1977, in the forest near Gillsburg Mississippi was not present. It is interesting to note that Ronnie Van Zant had many other interests also. At one time he considered becoming a boxer, or playing pro baseball. Also he tossed around the idea of becoming a stock car racer. In fact Ronnie often stated he was gonna be the most famous person to ever come out of Jacksonville since Racing legend Lee Roy Yarbrough. On January 15th 2012 Ronnie Van Zant would have been 62 years old. RIP RONNIE ROCK ON “DonV”

Try a New Indian: It’s true. There are six

operating dealerships listed on the Indian site, with another six listed as opening soon. These bikes honor the legacy. It’s totally reengineered, yet true to their original look. But what’s different about Indian now? The new company has a better business model for a low-volume, high-quality, premiumpriced product like the Indians, which start at $30,999. Parts quality is better, volume will be kept to around 750 bikes in the first year. Given the history of Indian – including the abrupt demise of the Gilroy factory in 2003 – it’s easy to be cynical about the brand’s prospects, especially in rocky financial times. Let’s hope the fourth time’s the charm. “Crazy Bastid”

“Diva Dawn” Santucci was true to her word, as she plunged into the freezing waves of the Atlantic at Coney Island NY New Year’s Day wearing tassels and a thong, after reaching a $5,000 fundraising goal on New Year’s Eve for 7-year-old Aidan Jack Seeger, who is hospitalized with a rare brain disease. Aidan is currently in Duke University Children’s Hospital. June 2011, he was diagnosed with a rare brain disease called Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). ALD is a rare, inherited disorder that untreated leads to progressive brain damage, failure of the adrenal glands and eventually death. You may know Aidan’s parents, Bobby and Elisa Seeger of Indian Larry Motorcycles, Brooklyn, NY, but what you may not know is that THE LATE “Indian Larry” Desmedt was an active member of the Coney Island Polar Bear Club and this event continues to be an annual tradition for the Seeger family and friends. Members of Aidan’s immediate family and friends came down to cheer her on and also joined her in running headlong into the waves. On exiting the ocean Aidan’s Grandfather, Ed, literally gave Dawn the Indian Larry hoodie-off-his-back thanking her for her brave efforts and commitment. The Scootergoods Staff would like to send a BIG ATA BIKER to Dawn & hope for a speedy recovery for AIDIAN! “BEANCAN”

Happy February Scooterheads! It’s a leap year so we get an extra day for some good ole fashioned biker shenanigans. It’s also an election year so prepare to be bombarded with all sorts of negative political ads and nonsense til the election. From here out til November we get to sit back and watch as all the so called better politicians for the job engage in a bashing fest of each other. Too bad they don’t take the time to do what they are all elected to do which is serve their constituents and make things better for everyone across the board instead of making things better for themselves and the political party they are affiliated with. Greed is what has put this country in the downward spiral it is in and the way things are going they probably won’t turn around or get much better for a long, long time. Don V has been doin a good job sharing a lot of links via Facebook and to give some good examples of just how phucked up things are and how the government continues to raise the national debt ceiling by Trillions of bucks! It’s easy to point out all the things that are wrong but it’s harder to put together solutions for them since you can’t please everyone across the board. I do know that we shouldn’t be putting people into an elected position just based on how GQ or clean cut they might be. The right person will know how to work with their respective counterparts and do things for the greater good! We broke away from England to make changes for the greater good, no taxation without representation, freedom of thought, will, expression, etc. Here we are today loosing many of those freedoms that we tend to take for granted and all sorts of taxes that weren’t around back in the 50’s when the average family had 4 kids and only one adult could take care of their whole family! But enough of my soapbox on politics, nobody like to talk about em but we need to pay attention to what some of these people that we elect are really doing with the power and authority we give them! Valentine’s day is coming up, so grab your sweetie and (Cont Pg. 83)

I gutta sound off about this! It goes out to all them CRYNERS in Washington and elsewhere complaining about the 4 Marines who pissed on Taliban Corpses. You need to get your head outta your ass and remember 9/11 when 3000 innocent men women and children died do to the long term planning of Osama Bin Laden and them TALIBAN BASTIDS. They are the same group of Muslim Extremists that have killed and gutted Americans and dragged them through the streets of Afganistan, Burned Americans alive and hung them from bridges, and continuously mame and kill our soldiers with IED’s. WE ARE AT WAR, THIS AIN’T PRACTICE, THEY JUST WANNA KILLS AS MANY, American men, women and Children as they can. So before you condem those 4 brave marines, get on a plane and fly to NYC and visit ground zero. “DonV”

BMW IS MAKING IT HARDER FOR CROOKS: BMW has become the 1st manufacture to infered security mark EVERY new bike. Each new BMW is marked with a unique hidden code linking them to theowner. A discreet sticker ON THE FRAME warns CROOKS about the special markings, which can only be veiwed by the fuzz under special UV Lights. So starting last month JANUARY 1ST all models are fitted with Infered DATA TAGS free of charge. This new innovation will make BMW’S, less attractive to steal. Biker Humor: Panhead Pete was out for a putt & when an asswhole cager suddenly cut him off. He never hit the ground and managed to wrestle the bike under control and bring it to a safe stop. Pissed off he reached into his saddlebag, pulled of a wrench and hurled it as hard as he could at the cage. It went right through the back window and hit the cager right in the back of the noggen knocking him out and causing him to crash and go to the hospital. 6 months later in court the judge asked him why he threw the wrench at the driver. Panhead Pete just smiled and said. Well Judge. I JUST DID’NT SEE HIM!!!
