Christmas parties fill the calendar and last-minute panic present buying is growing ever closer! For our final issue for 2017 we want to take one last opportunity to thank all those involved in what has been hugely successful year in Victoria. To the committee, volunteers, partners and valued members, thank you for your involvement, efforts and attendance! The energy in the SCLAA this year has been contagious as we have grown and launched a number of successful programs and events which drive our awareness, capabilities and industry forward. 2018 will kick-off with the annual Launch Event, networking drinks at the sunny Aer Rooftop Bar in Melbourne CBD. What’s next? 2018 Launch Event To celebrate the New Year, the SCLAA invites you to our annual Launch Event, Networking drinks at Aer Rooftop Bar on 120 Exhibition Street, Melbourne. The event will be held on Tuesday 6 February 2018 at 6pm. This is your chance to have a say in what the SCLAA does for 2018, get involved with the committee and grow your industry network. Industry Collaboration Program Collaborative partnership program between the SCLAA, RMIT, organisations and industry professionals, with the objective of facilitating a multidisciplinary problem-solving environment, aimed at building agile teams to address contemporary organizational issues. The program will provide front line 20

experience for students and established professionals, enabling them to solve real-world industry problems with the guidance of solidified industry professionals and structured frameworks & methodologies commonly used by professionals in the industry to understand, plan, design and execute value-added projects. The program will allow participants to continue developing their theoretical knowledge, while collaborating with industry professionals, with the goal of increasing their practical abilities to approach whatever challenges arise next in a continuously disrupted and globally competitive environment. 2018 Mentoring Program Based on positive feedback and strong demand, the 2018 Mentoring Program will grow to engage up to 20 young professionals in the industry, across a number of activities. Year End Highlights The Christmas Party If you are reading this, we hope you enjoyed our Christmas Party! We celebrated the year at Crafty Squire Brewery in early December, where we also launched the Industry Collaboration Program and congratulated our graduating mentees! It was a great to see our supply chain and logistics community grow and network. We hope to see you at our events next year as there will be great opportunities to add value to our emerging industry. Thought Leadership Wow! What a ride it's been in 2017 for the SCLAA Vic team's Thought Leadership series. With what started as an idea at the beginning of the year, it's been amazing and humbling to see how well received these events have been by our members and the broader supply chain community. The support for the concept has been absolutely fantastic and we have every intention to keep the momentum going! To steal a line from Jeff Bezos, we can assure you it really is "Day 1" for our Thought Leadership platform, as we aim to build on the great foundations established throughout 2017.
